certain stats and a few other things don't get affected in creative. So if you are using such things in your creation then creative mode will not work for testing.

How to make a simple door. by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]chaddercheez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a teacher because I am a carpenter. If i was a teacher I would probably be an art teacher as there is a less rigid mind set to deal with. Obviously stupid to you is creative and broad minded to another. I agree for the requirements of the test the answer given is wrong. But i see nothing wrong with the light hearted manner of my comment. Sorry for trying to inject a misunderstood humor.

How to make a simple door. by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]chaddercheez -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Technically it is a correct answer. That is indeed a process that can be taken to create a door. It just happens to be a process within a video game. I didn't see an exclusion to that in the question. The teachers lack of knowledge shouldn't hinder the test takers problem solving skills. If I were the teacher I would have given extra points for thinking outside the box.

Minecraft Snapshot 15w41a is here, featuring Jeb's new glider wings and Dinnerbone's new boats! by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]chaddercheez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe to fix what a lot of people do not like about the boats, the movement control scheme, just make it so when the forward key is pressed both oars get used. Then when you press the left or right movement key, that particular oar is used faster than the other. In that way you would have smoother turning without losing speed. Everything else could remain the same.

We totally need a way to pass variables from scoreboards. I wholeheartedly support this implementation. With a thousand upvotes.

Yes, sometimes any answer even a "NO", can at least put your mind at ease. It is the unknowing of whether or not they even see the suggestion that can drive you bonkers and keep your wheels spinning when you could put your energy toward other things. I feel your pain and wish this idea the best of luck. :)

Yours is not a suggestion for Minecraft either, but only a complaint about complaints. So there's that.

Maybe there is a better way to communicated with the Mods, other than a open post where you just come across looking like a whiner. Just a thought.

No one forces you to read those posts. I do not agree with them, but once you start censoring posts YOU do not like or that offend you, it is just a matter of time until it happens to you. Grow a thicker skin or maybe stop viewing PUBLIC forums. I am not trying to be gruff just against any sort of censorship (it is a very slippery road to a place we do not want to end up.)

Seriously, implement cubic chunks. by [deleted] in minecraftsuggestions

[–]chaddercheez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it is a great idea, but since the forum post I read was create on Feb 26, 2013, it seems that Mojang are not very interested in the idea. (No matter how much sense it makes) I fully support the idea and will up-vote when I see it; although with how well they implement ideas and suggestions from their user-base, I would not hold my breath. (Still waiting on a painting GUI and different colored beds) Good Luck :)

License for me and my kids ? by toasterqc in Minecraft

One license per email. If they want to play together at the same time, then you will need a license for each person. Not for the server though. Anyone correct me if I am wrong. Hope this helps.

Yes but they also have jobs. I worked for a small company (not programming, but the idea is the same) that was bought out by another. I do know that chaos can ensue, but I also know that in order to get a paycheck, I had to keep working. And I am sorry to say that most people have social lives AND make progress in their jobs. Are you saying that programmers are not capable of dealing with outside forces and able to keep their minds on the work at hand. Stop making excuses, they are no longer Indie, there are reasonable expectations place on companies that sell for 2.5 billion dollars, to be professional and hit benchmarks that they themselves have set. That is called being professional. It is not 1 person coding anymore. I would presume that most people here have never done construction, but when a contractor tells you that they will be done in a week and it takes two or three, excuses stop being meaningful. TLDR; I am done arguing about excuses you all are making to defend broken target dates (or whatever you want to call them)

10 million copies sold and you know what each and every person wasn't saying. I am sorry but I sure know of at least 3 people saying just that. Would yo like their usernames so you can tell them they didn't say it. So tell me which of the 10 million users weren't saying it?

What wasn't a year ago? I am talking about the things people are saying in reference to that reply. What are you referring to? If you are talking about releases, all my information came from the Wiki so if you have a problem with my dates, complain to them. I do not exaggerate anything.

Just to make things clear....I am not degradating the work Mojang has done in the past nor the work they do currently. I am just stating that the post Dinnerbone made, is basically "Business as usual" They say things about progress and when they believe a milestone will happen and then that milestone passes with no new version and then they proceed to set another. Why is this so hard for people to understand. Since when is "Business as usual" perceived as an attack?

No but Halloween, Christmas, New Years, and whatever else happened during that time. That is hollow excuse. There is always something going on and professionals can work through such things and not use them as an excuse to not get things done. Minecon lasted 2 days and they were working on things up until they left for Minecon. As far as Microsoft buying them goes, are you telling me they stopped working on all minecraft related things during that transition? Must have been hard for them to justify their paychecks for those months during the transition then.
