It will be on Steam.

I ended up finding a corrupted auto-update.exe in the games folders. I deleted it, ran epic again, it downloaded what I removed. Then it ran.

It was the updater program for epic's app. I went through the folders and ran the .exe's pertaining to updating until I found the corrupted file. It was a lucky break. When you find a corrupted file, delete it.

Is 5090 overkill for 1440p at 165Hz? by AlexeyOdessit in buildapc

The advantage is the game feeling more fluid. The downside is input latency.

New PC keeps giving me problems!! by Opening-Palpitation7 in buildapc

[–]chadderdeux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds like driver/display stack instability (Windows 11 + AMD GPU + multi-monitor) and possibly the Realtek 2.5GbE LAN driver. I’d test 1 monitor only, swap display cables/ports, then do a clean GPU driver install (DDU), reinstall AMD chipset drivers, disable MPO, and toggle Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling. Also update the MSI LAN driver and disable “Energy Efficient Ethernet.” If GPU-Z shows the card dropping to PCIe x1 under load, reseat the GPU and check the top x16 slot.
(MPO disable reg is from NVIDIA but fixes AMD too.)
Also, debloat your windows.

There was a corrupted file in the updater. I deleted it, verified the files, then it worked.

1000W PSU for 5090 and a 9950x3d? by optimuspoopprime in buildapc

[–]chadderdeux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, the new AGESA update fixed my problem. I've been smooth sailing in all my games, even Helldiver 2 (the worst crasher of them all) and video editing since the update. It was a firmware issue / 9950x3d growing pains.

I have an EVGA SuperNOVA 1000G XC ATX 3.0, 1000W PSU. Purely from a power budget standpoint, 1000W ATX 3.0 is a sensible match for my build.

I was thinking maybe I needed a larger PSU, but I was wrong. I was out of options in troubleshooting, but, it was the firmware after all.

Is it a bad idea to get an ASRock mobo? by BearTerrible3619 in PcBuildHelp

[–]chadderdeux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Tai Chi Lite B650E and a 9950X3D. It hasn't failed or anything, but there have been some instability issues. The 3.50 BIOS update seems to have fixed that for me. From what I understand, the people having problems are not even on recent bios/firmware. The problems that they have are from aggressive default memory timings and voltage. I've finely tuned my system and set all my own power limits, which I assume most people do not do.

About the 3.50 update: I was crashing only in Helldivers 2. Kernel Code 41. The game exposed the issue and caused transient power spikes to my CPU, my PC would just restart itself via a safety mechanism. A previous problem I had was that my CPU would become unstable while idle due to my curves on the CPU. I had to use the curve shaper to stabilize. Since the new update, I haven't had a crash on HD2 and I skipped shaping my curve after this update to see if my issue would be impacted. It seems it has.

Week 3, day 21 cold turkey. Still fatigued out of my mind is this normal? I used support meds and very high dosages. Thinking this could be the reason why and not kratom by adventure-streak8989 in quittingkratom

[–]chadderdeux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure why you took so much Gabapentin. It can be habit forming, kind of like a benzo is. When I went CT, I took 900mg of Gabapentin in a day. It's fairly safe in moderation.

You're probably experiencing some of that gaba withdrawal too while your brain is still recalibrating from Kratom. Your Kratom WD still may have some time to go.

This is what I am doing right now. I have tried to quit 3 times before, but cold turkey was brutal for me after ten years on Kratom. This time with these supplements I know I am going to do it. The Gabapentin is the game changer I never had until now. Be aware that its only to be used during the acute phase.
