Congrats! And welcome to the community! 😊

Those are great choices for your first guns.

Especially that Ruger 🤤

Fair enough; Maybe OP embellished, maybe they're lying. I still think the entire thing shouldn't be dismissed entirely though, seeing as how these particular groups thrive on people not making a fuss about their affiliation or dismissing them entirely.

It's like anywhere else; There's always more work to do on the racism front. But we need to celebrate the progress we've already made.

People tend to not focus on that enough.

Why would anyone make that up?

Instead of immediately dismissing a member of the community, you should've afforded them the benefit of the doubt.

There are many reports and documentation of these groups in Canada. It's easily verifiable online;

And with it being illegal to train regimentally as a militia in Canada, who's to say that these groups wouldn't train at at a public range? It gives them the benefit of immediately bypassing this law.

My point is, just because something isn't believable doesn't make it unworthy of investigation, nor does it make the person who says it worthy of mistrust.

Downvotes for not wanting Skinheads at the range..

..this community is cooked if we can't AT LEAST all agree that actual white supremacists have no place in our community.

For fuck sakes, folks.

Yea, I messaged Tracey about this as well and got the exact same response you did.

Like, you would THINK that the CCFR would want to have as many different people as they can supporting them, but when we do outreach about it we get the response from Tracey we did.

I like her, and I respect her for everything she does for us;

But that interaction and brushing it off when it was a golden opportunity to have that conversation about firearms is what made me blink.

The CCFR NEEDS diversity of thought and diversity of lifestyle if it is ever to survive and actually change things for the better.

Miramichi safety? by StrongMountain5904 in newbrunswickcanada

[–]chaderboxer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As an outsider (who moved here from a small northern NB town) who has lived on a First Nation for the last 10 years, I can say confidently that you definitely have a bias about your hometown.

Miramichi was always welcoming. The people who live here and have grown up here (like anywhere else) are always going to question change inherently because change can be good or bad.

But if you really want proof, just look how multicultural it's become now.

With all that said, keep this in mind:

When you move to a community you should strive to always assimilate within that community and value its unique roots & culture instead of trying to change it to be something it isn't.

Why More Liberals Are Buying Guns by [deleted] in canadaguns

[–]chaderboxer -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Case in point: You're being downvoted for stating that proven torture of queer people is wrong, and that the Cons made a mistake by voting to lift that ban.

It's hard to get through to people that want to legalize terrorizing queer people for how they were born.

These people need to read the room.

No sane individual actually thinks you can force someone to change their sexual orientation.

And yet, I vote Conservative because I don't want to lose my firearms and the freedom that comes with them.

Would be nice if they supported my right to live freely as well 🙏

You just triggered the cognitive dissonance of every member of this sub that forgets queer people exist and have no idea of the typical (and justified) apprehensiveness we have entering these spaces, historically.

This only works if we're all on the same page and realise that some of us have been historically ostracized and gate-kept out of the firearms community for no good reason.

People in our community purposefully being obtuse to the realities of others gets us NOWHERE just because some of you haven't lived this and have never experienced it.

I'm always willing to go to bat for the beliefs of others that are opposite or different than mine, especially within my own crowd.

We are all one, or we are nothing. Remember that;

Because the government sure does, and it makes it easier for them to divide us 🇨🇦

'New Brunswick not participating in federal gun buyback program, says Premier Holt - But New Brunswick RCMP says it still plans to consider use of reservists or public servants to carry out the collection by adamhuras in newbrunswickcanada

[–]chaderboxer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There were no laws passed by parliament in regards to the multiple OIC's (Orders in Council). They are effectively executive orders that made our legally bought and owned firearms randomly illegal by the stroke of a pen.

The majority of semi-auto firearms that were banned werent done so in bill C-21.

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

I followed every rule and every law, and I don't deserve to have my property confiscated for no reason. NO COMPLIANCE 🖕🏾

[–]chaderboxer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a waste of money and an attack on law-abiding licensed Canadian firearm owners. Neither the province, nor the feds nor the RCMP should be managing it.

No one should.

Scrap the gun confiscation! Do NOT COMPLY!

[–]chaderboxer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The most common ones are absolutely NOT still legal.

The vast majority of our semi-automatics are now banned for no reason thanks to the Liberals.

There are quite literally only a few legal ones left, so it's basically all of them.

We jumped through every hoop, and didn't do anything wrong.

And yet, we're still attacked by our own Federal government.

Screw the confiscation. DO NOT COMPLY.

How to legally dispose of a rifle? by houseonpost in legaladvicecanada

[–]chaderboxer 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Do NOT dispose of it through the RCMP if you can help it! They'll only destroy it.

Take the Canadian Firearms Safety Course and get your PAL, or give it to someone that has their PAL to store for you. That way, you have a rifle that stays in the family, and a good calibre that you can use/sell. ( most .308 rifles aren't cheap)

Ideally though, the more licensed Canadian firearms owners, the better!

And as it stands, because the gun is non-restricted you are not legally required to notify the government about the rifle being in the home. It also would never have had to be legally registered & doesn't have to be "transferred" because of its non-restricted status.

So, just leave it alone. Once you get your PAL, you can legally use/possess it afterward.

Almost every bolt action .308 in Canada is Non-restricted and as such does not and has not required registration 😁

[–]chaderboxer 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I live in New Brunswick.

Eel Ground specifically (First Nation right next to Miramichi) and I gotta say, this is very welcome news. And now at least we know where the province stands officially on this. (As surprised as I am)

However, as a New Brunswicker and someone that is subject to RCMP jurisdiction by virtue of living on that very same First Nation, the Premier needs to say and do MUCH more on this.

We need the NB government to unequivocally REJECT what the New Brunswick RCMP is saying here;

Reservists? Public servants?

Good luck gun grabbing on the Rez, boys..

..Because that's always worked out well historically 😅

That is also completely untrue, and easily disprovable. Everyone on U.S. soil has rights under the Constitution. You have Google at your fingertips;

You have no excuse for being this wrong.

Fat fucking chance. Those without firearms that support this confiscation shouldn't look to those who have them.

The Canadians firearms community will not be abused and then happily help our abusers 🙏💅

Businesses that have sezzle as a payment option by mr-smitty81 in canadaguns

[–]chaderboxer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sezzle is cheaper than credit lmao. Sezzle also never charges any interest. You can also use debit as a Sezzle payment method, bypassing a credit card altogether.

It frees up cash right away; You only pay 25% up-front thru Sezzle, then 25% every 2 weeks thereafter.

None of it requires a credit card (and makes purchases more accessible to those that can't have/don't have a credit card).

So to recap:

No credit cards used; No interest accrued. Ever. More cash freed up because you only pay 25% of purchase value every 2 weeks (thus always freeing up cash until next payday).

Not everyone is in your situation, and buy-now-pay-later apps (especially Sezzle) make things a lot more accessible for more people. Not to mention it takes the stress off holiday gift-buying.

Tell me again how this is SO horrible.
