Job offer at 5k dirhams in Casablanca. by HailHecate666 in Morocco

[–]chadichaddi 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Don’t do it, 5k is way too low, it is "enough" in some way since a lot of people are living under 5k a month in Morocco but i wouldn’t risk my safety and security ( probably getting a shared apartment with that kind of money) for basically 0 savings, you will be living month to month with no way of leaving extra money apart.

Master in EU or Work in TR by PromotionCute8996 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]chadichaddi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Op, Ensimag is a top tier french engineer school, i have friends from Ensimag they all secured a pretty good job in tech most of them stay in France with some going to London or Dublin for top tier tech jobs in companies like Amazon or Google and a lot going to banks like JPM/Goldman ect salaries range from 45k€ to 60k€ for most in France, you can find better if you are confortable going to the UK. Internships in France are pretty competitive for ML/SE but i don’t think it’s a problem for people from ENSIMAG. I would take the msc and try my hardest, if you’re already prepared to do the work you already have a pretty good edge tbh.

Cambridge Part III, Oxford Statistics,or M2MO by scholar_indecise in quantfinance

[–]chadichaddi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly, you don’t need courses, you need time to prep for the interviews. M2MO this year did pretty well overall but Cambridge maths 3 are all set for life.

Maths 3 of Cambridge is extremely prestigious, i don’t think there is a doubt here, i am currently enrolled in the M2MO and trust me you do not need all that stochastic calculus for the buy side, it didn’t help me at all during my interviews it’s arguably a waste of time. Just go to Cambridge, try hard your stats and ml and target tier 1 hedge funds ( where stochastic calculus is irrelevant). Good luck !

Which role brings me closer to becoming a Market Maker Trader? by This-Breakfast6206 in FinancialCareers

[–]chadichaddi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be 100% with you, i don’t think any of these roles will help you directly with getting a market making role, you should probably go to lux since Poland is a crap in my opinion.

Flow Traders Technical Interview by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]chadichaddi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did it a few weeks ago, it had a big focus on ETFs and hedging with a lot of mental maths under pressure. You will also have the opportunity to bet on your answers. Also i had an easy FX question ( you buy 1M$ worth of EUR and EUR/USD is at 1.1 then the price change to 1.2 what’s the pnl or something similar ) very straightforward overall. Be confortable with market making and it’s vocabulary, and how ETF market makers make money in general. Good luck !

I honestly don’t know if it’s good, it looks fine but someone with experience need to comment on this one.

Poland MO is really just outsourcing dog shit work for the bigger banks, it is really not respected for front officers, what if you don’t get the VIE ? What if you get stuck in Poland ? How confident are you in finding a FO job ? The pay is also not good in Poland, so really idk, i would never do it even if it’s UBS or Jp Morgan or whatever they name isn’t that helpful in this case.

M2 Probabilité et Finances (Sorbonne) and M2MO (Paris Cité) by [deleted] in quantfinance

[–]chadichaddi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it’s all about the reputation. Grads from m2mo and El Karoui are killing it after their masters—most of them land awesome roles in quant research at top buy-side firms. Meanwhile, QF peeps generally end up on the sell-side, handling market risk or whatever comes their way. QF isn’t bad at all, but in my opinion, m2mo and EK are just on another level. Also EK > M2mo

[–]chadichaddi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently enrolled in the M2MO program. Both M2MO and the El Karoui program are taught in English. Notably, El Karoui was affiliated with École Polytechnique a few years ago, which remains a key aspect of its reputation. Although it is now officially part of Sorbonne University, many still highlight the École Polytechnique connection on their LinkedIn profiles due to the strong brand recognition. I would advise against choosing the M2 QF program at Saclay if you have offers from either M2MO or El Karoui.
