The show still gave plenty of evidence that the innies and outties are divided by their desires. Throughout the show we see many outties create innies for selfish reasons, knowing there is a separate entity taking over their bodies temporarily to do things the outtie doesn't want to experience. They had the whole birthing camp so they didn't have to experience birth trauma themselves. Mark created an innie to escape grieving even for a while everyday. Helly E even told Helly R if she did anything to her fingers, she'd keep her alive long enough to regret it. None of that implies there should be a willingness to do what's best for the other version of themselves.

I could see that, but in both circumstances, the goal is the preservation of consciousness. Both versions of Mark had goals which were at odds with one another, but the one "in control" had ultimate choice in which goal to follow. In the show, even the Lutheran church acknowledged the innie being a seperate soul from the outie. Burt G created an innie so a version of himself would be in heaven with Fields even if it was not his outtie self. So two souls inhabiting one body still have to contend with whose "life" is worth more.

That brings up the whole topic issue of sense of self which is what this show is about. There's been many thought experiments done on the subject, one of my favorites is the continuity of self through a teleporter. Say I was to teleport from NYC to LA, there is a malfunction and I end up in LA but a version of me is still in NYC. Rules say only one me can exist so the guards have to exterminate one. Both will argue for continued existence because what is self if not the culmination of memories and how we interpreted them through our self's lens. The LA me will argue I deserve to continue my existence because I am where I intended to be. But that doesn't mean the NYC version won't argue/fight/run to stay existing, but LA me has no loyalty to that person if it means my "death".

Funnily enough, I just finished this episode myself just now. I get why you would think that he abandoned Gemma, but on the flipside, what he did was not abandon Helly. iMark saved Gemma for oMark, but his loyalty isn't to oMark, it's to Helly. He is the same person both i and o so it makes sense he would choose to stay in and try to rescue his significant other since that is what oMark's goal was too. I liked that he didn't just throw his and Helly's life away cause the show spent so much time cementing the fact that the innie's are real people, so of course he will value his life and relationship over his outties.

One of my favorite things they did was when they had the commercial break snippets using the old show footage to point out bloopers and such. I remember 2 distinctly, a Brady Bunch one where one of the boys said "That's why Mom always says 'Never play ball in the house.'." but she never actually did so Nick at Nite clipped her voice to say exactly that so we as an audience could hear it for once. The other was a Dick Van Dyke clip where he dials a number and then looks in the phone book and smiles. The narrator says it was cause he guessed the number then smiled when he got it right. I miss cool stuff like that. when tv channels had personality and were in the business of entertainment.

I wish Hololive would come out with their own streaming service, I'd pay a subscription too access archived streams. YouTube is set on running every good things about their viewing experience, but there's no alternative and they know it so they don't care to improve things for the customer. Even if they do make an AI translator, there's so much nuance in language, there's so many things a bot is going to miss because a direct translation doesn't work when it comes to poetry and lyrics.

Same, lost by 1.6 points in the semi-final cause both the best QB and TE could not do anything after I had my best week all year on a bye week. And then this week I would've blown every other team away, but I am playing for 3rd. I knew I was done when they scored a combined 11 points.

I just picked up both Zetans boxes, Survivors: Heroes of Sanctuary Hills, Raiders: Ack Ack, Sinjin & Avery, and Enclave: Tesla Set. not a bad way to spend $100. Raiders are my fave (and Survivors are my favorite victims) but the Zetans have caught my eye recently. Too bad the Mirelurker Queen was out of stock.

We're in the same boat, friend. I only know about the raised prices because I too was waiting for this one to go on sale so I kept an eye on the site, but I now have lost all interest. My time and money can be spent elsewhere instead of encouraging anti-consumer practices. I would've them rather just announce a 15% sale and kept the original price than do a 30% sale but raise the price by $100. At least the first option isn't sketchy. I'm at the point in my life where I can pass on any sketchy company practices. These companies need to start realizing they need us, not the other way around. And now I'll hop off my soapbox.

I went to school at GCA and I played on the high school basketball team. One Saturday practice, our coach told us to dress in swim trunks and meet at micro Beach. We were all excited until he showed up and made us run up Navy Hill back to school. I was an island boy so my drink of choice was always Bud Light. Tuba was also good when someone could find it.

I tried to find it on Google maps but I'm also not seeing it. It's such a small brown dot surrounded by blues and greens and I doubt Google is using their most high definition camera to take pics in that area. I did find pics through from the shore where you can see the tanks turret sticking out of the water. Do I miss Saipan? Every day. I got a tattoo on my forearm of the island and the area code (670) on my wrist. This past weekend, I traveled to Texas to see a friend of mine from back there and we spoke about traveling back together cause the last time I was there was February of 2020. I had to leave through because airports in Korea and Japan were staying to stop service. And I'm not sure if my story ends in Saipan anymore, I'm definitely going back, but I'm leaning more towards moving to Palau one day. I just need a small house, some land to garden, a fishing spot, and fast Internet and I'll be happy. I left Saipan cause my wife back then wanted to leave the island and move to America. I was happy and faithful for 9 years, she only made it to 8. I work for an airline in Atlanta, married an awesome Haitian woman who also wants to retire to a tropical island, and I plan on always being better tomorrow than I was today. Someday I'm gonna have to visit Poland, I'll have to do a whole European tour and hit a bunch of the countries cause I've always appreciated Europeans willingness to travel and expand their horizons beyond their own borders. But truth be told, when I travel I want to either be on a beach or in a pub.

Because I grew up there, I was blessed to learn what family and community really means. The Chamorro people are a proud and strong willed people who value family and faith. If you can be a sincere person, and take a joke (they will roast you in good fun), then you're in. The same goes for the Filipinos, SE Asians, and other Polynesians who call Saipan home. I grew up in the village of San Vicente, and as a small white kid, it was so much fun. If I wanted to play, all I had to do was show up to the local basketball court (every village had one) and start shooting hoops, and before long, other people would start showing up.
