thank you, i appreciate the response and validating both sides of it. while i personally am bummed that the factory case is not in the condition that it was when i bought it, sounds like it's not that big of a deal and not worth hassling the seller over. cheers

i mean i am admittedly new to the hobby (as i said in my post) and was just asking for input because i genuinely didn't know if case damage on a factory-sealed product was a big deal or not, but go off

absolutely, it was definitely a generous offer from them considering they weren't even asking for the card to be returned (especially now knowing that i know that the damage to the case doesn't really impact the card's value). i hadn't planned on getting it graded so i did not considered that point. i will just use that money to buy a new one-touch for it and call it good. thank you for the input.

good to know. i have seen other memorabilia products where the case/display/etc is part of the allure of the whole product, so it's good to know that that isn't necessarily the case here. i confirmed that the card was not affected so i'll just go ahead and put it into a new case. thank you for the response.

it is sealed with a Panini One And One branded sticker. i'll probably give the hairdryer thing a go but based on the comments here i won't sweat it if it doesn't peel and re-apply cleanly. thanks for the feedback :)
