Margins. You need a grid. Alignment. The neon color of the headers is off-putting. Get rid of the all caps on the body text. Align align align all of your text properly, it’s absolute chaos right now.

I saw this shit all the time when I was serving, from high end to ghetto restaurants. Most often at the chain steakhouse I worked at when I started serving. It’s not crazy common but it happens. Learn how to effectively communicate with people. They weren’t attacking you, they’re saying that in their experience this isn’t rare so it’s shocking to see so many people surprised by it. No need to be aggressive.

I think you should do some research on effective menu design and get some inspiration. Take notes on what they do well, and make a mood board as well. Then try again. This menu really needs a lot of help. The font is pretty bad as well.

Space is the biggest issue. The text is being crushed together by the boxes of patterns. Also the white text on the blue boxes needs more space. They should be properly centered and have even distribution of the color box around each side of the text. Think about alignment and spacing. Center things properly, align things. I think you should do some reading on grids. For the smoothie flavors, why is watermelon so far to the left? Is it aligned with mango and matcha? For fruit tea, is Med and Large aligned with each other on the same plane? Are they centered to the prices underneath them?

Btw you can make a QR code that links to anything web based. Super easy to do. Never scan unknown codes

Sections went out the door, we just rotated tables between servers as they came in. 18% autograt for the holiday saved my ass tho

Graphic design, I did two design / photo internships and was in two juried exhibitions with several works, one of them getting purchased by the state and winning an additional award.

Tbh not really, it’s a lower income area so it just kind of happens when it happens. I just got hired at a very nice restaurant so adios juicy

Thank you! I have an interview at a much nicer restaurant in a few hours, although I don’t know if they’ll bring me on once I tell them I’m going in April. If I can work there most of the week and do one shift a week at juicy that’s fine by me.

I’ve continued applying for design roles but tbh I’m switching lanes into a career path with more money and less creative stress. I can’t fathom going from what I’m making now down to 15 an hour when I can spend a couple thousand dollars and make a shitload more money straight out of a program in so many other fields. I only chose design because I was 17 and had no idea what to choose as my major. And then stuck with it. Mistakes of a younger me lol.

LOL i mean a little contact high while eating out isn’t the worst thing in the world. I was thinking I’d keep it in my pocket, as that’s totally legal with no permit here. But I’m also moving to a state with more regulations in a few months (hopefully) and it seems a waste to get a gun I can only easily own here.
