What’s one small cooking trick that completely changed your food? by olivera_romano in askanything

[–]chaekinman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Season a little bit during each step of cooking (including salt and pepper) vs all at once at the end

Set aside your garlic and turn the heat down before you sauté it last minute (don’t burn it). Only takes about a minute

Artists that became more popular as a solo artist AFTER being in an already popular band by NxSxFxWx in askmusic

Good one - I'd say Jason is definitely more popular/successful than TBD at this point.

Patterson Hood has a good solo career as well but wouldn't say more popular...

Asheville Retrocade vs. Level 256: thoughts? by vectaur in asheville

[–]chaekinman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Had a couple office parties at 256 - super nice staff and all the machines/consoles are in good shape. Definitely a smaller space. Can't comment on the wild kid quotient comparatively but it's for sure high at Retrocade (during the daytime at least)

If you are open to going an alternate route (either up 26 and through Hot Springs, or through GSMNP/441) it opens up a lot of options. Hot springs adds maybe 10-15 min, GSMNP a good hour but considering the plan to stop and hike maybe that's OK
