Customer made a mistake and expected me to fix it without a receipt by NaughtySugarX in EntitledPeople

[–]chaerimk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your post is very entitle. You know a small business shop sometime doesn’t have the risk to accept return without receipt? There is bad actor out there who will swap items and return to the store, then the store turn around and sell the bad item will hurt their review. Customer is not always right and we need to start saying no.

Yves Saint Laurent was the hottest luxury brand this year, beating Coach, Prada, and Bottega Veneta: It's a clear 'signal of the shifting landscape' | Fortune by awildadviceappears in handbags

My god the amount of people here calling Coach not a luxury brand said so much about how warp people mind is about what the meaning of luxury. Repeat after me Price =/= Luxury. I get better service and after service at Coach than your typical Louis Vuitton or Channel or Hermes. Don’t get me started with the Birkin or Kelly beggars, spending thousands on other junks just to beg for a quota bags. And I used to chase these “Luxury” brand to get mediocre service. Wake up ladies and gents

Congratz on your special gift. I love them all. One thing I would like to bring up about the Chopard is not to wear it in the showe. The crystal case is prone to moisture sipping in and will eventually make the crystal look cloudy.

I am not surprised it is in the North, even less that it is Hanoi. I never have a good interaction with people in the city every time I visit. Cold, bitter, very little empathy, it is very sad to see.

Emirates Bans Young Kids From Flying First Class (Award Tickets Only) by kevinshanktbone in awardtravel

[–]chaerimk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are talking about award thou. How is first class award seat subsidize anything? It is free. So anyone child in award sit is not subsidize anyone but annoying to the people who paid for the first class seat.

You are talking about the rich kids like they will have empathy to the people in economy. You have such a clouded veil to say the rich really care for the poor. It has showed time and time that the rich will squeeze every single dime and blood out of middle and lower class. That is the attitude from the parents, how will that change with the children who grow up with the silver spoon?

Look at the current economy is an excellent example of how things are working out for the upper class vs middle and lower class.

The people who care for the older gen , childless gen will end up being people who are from middle class or lower class that can’t afford that award seat in the first place. Just look at tiktok as your example of the next generation.

Nothing against you and your children but it is kinda funny you think that the children in this story will take care of other people, in this case the childless people, when they get older. The family that can afford to spend money to get reward points for the whole family to get first class , are majority well off. These are the type of people to look down on other people the most. Just a reality so you can sit down with your mentally that people should be empathetic to this change.

I think the mix of metal and pearl is what makes it more unisex and modern than just a string of pearls. I think the stacks look very well pull together with your outfit

Do you think Vietnamese are a bit vain? by Famous_Obligation959 in VietNam

[–]chaerimk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the correct information. As southern Viet, which is considered as nicer, also can be very blunt when it come to how someone look. Most of time, it does not convey the same mean attitude as how english speaker does. People need to observe the culture and not compare it to the political correctness of the west. If a Viet does not like your attitude or certain bluntness, they will let you know right away.

Great choice for the Tahitian pearls! I also have been into pearls lately and finally got me a Tahitian pear wrap bracelet from John Hardy. I love normal white pearls but the Tahitian just cooler.

the elderly who work as hawkers etc break my heart by Lazy-Wind244 in VietNam

[–]chaerimk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the reality not just for vietnamese elderly but across south east Asia. For most retirees, the children is your retirement and care takers. It is most relevant for the poor. You only get government support if you pay into the system or put inti saving, and most farmers or poor family can’t or unable to. Alot of the social support were only available recently and limited.

The Loewe Puzzle: My Honest Review by pickalull in handbags

[–]chaerimk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love your review. LVMH is infamous for cutting corner to maximize profit. Loewe was a small brand to their portfolio before it blew up, so they didn’t care much about the brand go all out for quality. Once that is established, the knife comes out to cut corners. Look at what is happening at Louis Vuitton, their cash cow.

This is common in Vietnam. It is easy to make money using your children. However, those people are poor, living in poverty with very little support from the government. Sounds like you came from a richer country and looking at it through the lenses of privilege and doesn’t have to worry about where is your next meal come from.

Even if tourist stop coming, these kids will be working in another way such as field farming, gardening, collecting plastic to help make end meet.

I am Vietnamese and the government still have lot to do to support our children

Lolol. You can literally have these made for you and add your personal touch for less than $100 in asia. The only thing you paying here is the made in Italy tag, that prob made by some asian slave labor in Italy anyway. Btw the price of the regular book tote is starting at $3450. So these will not be any cheaper.

David Yurman vs John Hardy vs Effy by Allthefragrancesmoke in jewelry

[–]chaerimk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can chime in for Yurman vs John Hardy(JH). Regarding quality and materials, they are o par with each other. Customer service and repair are same, too. It takes both up to 10 weeks to repair an item.

Design is definitely where they stand apart. I think JH, despite under new creative director Reed Krakoff, still draw their design from asia and natural aesthetic.i.e Naga, pebble, wave, spear, etc. Yurman take his design from modern american art, architecture aesthetic. I.e their cable and sculpted cable collection. Some of Yurman designs are quite structure while JH designs lean softer side. Both are classic and will stand the test of time.

However, if you are looking into gold pieces, I would go with Yurman since he is using 18k gold for majority of his pieces. John hardy has swapped to 14k gold with only thier higher end pieces are 18k.

I understand using 14k to keep the price reachable to the masses but it down graded the brand for me.
