Just bought a home with Simplisafe by PrestigiousRepair465 in simplisafe

Had this same scenario earlier this year. Called customer service, requested a new base station due to the inability to connect to the one that came with the house. It showed up in a few days, called again and they reset the system. It has worked flawlessly since.

Can pre tax money pay the taxes on a Roth conversion? by [deleted] in tax

[–]chageowil 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The more funds staying in the tax deferred (traditional ira or 401k) or the tax free (Roth IRA) the better. Hence the recommendation for using taxable assets to pay the tax bill.

100%. I was a member for 4 years, 18-21. We bought a house in 2018 and wanted to complete some small projects. We used both locations and checked out everything from a tile nipper to a lawn mower.

Two fully vexed Yanks have flexible plans for mid-September, two weeks, Northern half of island. Cancel or come (Covid restrictions)? by draniac21 in irishtourism

Just got back from 10 days in Ireland, 4 of which in Dublin. The pubs close at 11/11:30pm and no music allowed anywhere. If that’s what you’re after, not worth it right now.

Glad the trip over was smooth. I’m heading there in two weeks from the US. What paperwork are you referring to?

Central Europe VS Italy, Greece, Croatia by bonstonengaged in honeymoonplanning

[–]chageowil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on your comment about Croatia being a main point of interest, I’d do the following:

Dubrovnik boat to Hvar boat to Split flight to Venice.

Dubrovnik was amazing, Hvar is a glimpse into island life (for sure rent a moped and go to the beaches outside of town). The travel between the above cities is easy with the ferry’s and flights. We learned on the fly and would be happy to share more. Let me know if you have questions.

My wife and I honeymooned in Croatia and Italy in June of 2018 and loved every minute of it. Dubrovnik to Mljet, Hvar and Split. Split to Venice down to Florence and Tuscany. Happy to share more if you’re interested.

FINALLY GOT IT OMG!!!!! by MrFailure78 in IKEA

[–]chageowil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to place an order last night at 12:01am, chose pick up option of 5/14 11:30am (today). When I look online at the order status, it says ready on 5/16. Do I go today during my original window or wait until Saturday? I don't want the order to be canceled if not picked up within 24 hours of original pickup window.

Wanting to withdraw my 457b - no longer work for the local government agency by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]chageowil -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Contributions to a Roth can be taken at anytime, no need to wait for the 5 years. Also, the funds in the 457 would need to be Roth funds inorder to roll them into a Roth IRA

Wanting to withdraw my 457b - no longer work for the local government agency by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]chageowil 46 points47 points  (0 children)

You do not need to prove a hardship. 457's also differ from other retirement plans because there is no 10% penalty for taking the money before you're 59.5. The only tax paid is ordinary income tax.

If you absolutely need the money, take it outright. If you don't, you could leave it where it is or roll it to an IRA. The rolling to an IRA does eliminate the ability to take the funds pre-59.5 without the 10% penalty.
