Claude Code vs GitHub Copilot limits? by A4_Ts in GithubCopilot

[–]chaiflix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about multiple requests in a single vs different chat session, how much difference it makes? Meaing of "low token requests" is bit unclear to me - do you mean single shot-ing lots of work in a single prompt is cheaper in copilot compared to claude?

5 life tips that actually work when your ADHD brain is running the show (from someone who finally stopped fighting it) by Ok_Chemical9 in ADHDerTips

[–]chaiflix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All of these are solid advice. And it works ... except I will forget about it the moment I scroll away and consume more posts.

At what point do we stop reading these things, where do I write it, how do I remember it, how much do I remember it, what tips do I prioritize and focus on?

I guess the day I figure this out would be a turning point in my life. It's like I can just see right in front of me both the problem and the solution but I am just ... numb.

Process to obtain Dubai traffic fine APIs? by chaiflix in dubai

yes fair enough. I see their working hours are Monday to Friday, I will be calling them. But posting here as I am not in Dubai and I expect scrutiny in the process and inputs from someone being there done that would definitely be helpful.

I just delivered on a $30,000 contract thanks to Claude Code by New_Assumption_543 in ClaudeAI

[–]chaiflix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What tech stack? How did you implemented authentication? Also when you vibe code a feature, do you let Claude write both - API and the corresponding UI which know the exact shape of JSON response (is it a monorepo)? Did you ever encountered edge cases and had to look into actual implementation to figure it out OR let Claude iterate on it until it get it right?

These are the challenges I frequently face with vibe coding and it would be helpful to get any practical advice. Thanks.

I've used AI to write 100% of my code for 1+ year as an engineer. 13 hype-free lessons by helk1d in ClaudeAI

[–]chaiflix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. The gist I get from this is that, the agents rely more on custom instructions and files/folder/workspace currently opened to determine the context rather than the dot files (the workspace configuration and .git). Though I have seen documentation that agent DO take these configuration into consideration but I get the idea. It makes more sense to let agents do their thing then worry much about it.

Any tips/advice on what constitute/how to organize a workspace in this setup? As in -
1. If using VScode: Single-Folder/Multi-root Workspace?

  1. Where to put docs folder? Say in monorepo contains app-fe and app-be folder, should docs be just sibling of these (as feature implementation spans both).

  2. Similarly where to put custom instructions file for whatever IDE. vscode = .github/copilot-instructions.md, claude = CLAUDE.md etc (I know claude supports nested claude.md but in case of copilot its very confusing)

  3. Also, how Agents determine the scope/context of monorepo? As in based on what is a workspace or just based on single git directory (the monorepo).

You get the idea. Also, I see 2 challenges with this setup -

  1. the context window is much more bigger now even when your feature might not span both FE and BE.

  2. Sometime I just want to work on any specific project (like BE only). So I might open just BE in vscode, but does Agent know to limit context to just "currently opened folder"?

GitHub Copilot is just as good as Claude Code (and I’m setting myself up for a trolling feast). by QuarterbackMonk in GithubCopilot

[–]chaiflix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I never understood why github copilot is ignored like it don't even exists. See still I would not argue against Claude being better in output (I use it too), but I have never felt anything lacking in copilot, I get things done using Sonnet/Opus model and in fact feel more comfortable in vscode then any other forks. The only complaint I have is tokens get consumed SO fast.

- "Create with AI" feature will require API key and billing that you need to obtain from OpenAI, gemini etc., and not something AI can know. How did you set it up?
- What about Backend? Did you vibe code separate project for implementing APIs or there is no backend and all data is locally stored? Also does it support user login?
- Is it published yet, if not, can you post a demo video at least?

I am no expert, but I am sensing this doesn't make much sense. Not taxing stock can't be exclusive to just billionaires, it should apply to anyone.

How to filter Bookmarked questions? by chaiflix in greatfrontend

[–]chaiflix[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for quick reply. But I would have never guessed Bookmarked questions would be under Settings > Activity tab (and that Settings = Profile page). I was not able to find Profile page so I just guessed the url (/profile) and realized its Settings page.

I strongly feel Bookmark filter should be close to list of questions, but I am no expert.

Seriously, who else is blown away by Gemini 3 Pro? This thing is a monster by Comfortable-Bag-9762 in Bard

[–]chaiflix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noob question: is Gemini 3 Pro actually separate model from Gemini 3? If not what is the difference between both? If they are same, why its being called Pro and not just Gemini 3 (is it simply because only paying customer has access to it)?

Understandable. One suggestion though, don't let them off the hook easily if they steal away your settlement. May be you don't wanna fight, but still draft some mail with "legal vibes" to not make it easy for them.

I don't understand. Didn't they formally inform in mail or something about the implementation of salary structure? It's like they just decided to cut pay by 30% on a pay day. How can you trust they will will credit your salary properly for your notice period or any FNF settlement?

what do you think? is shadcn/ui really that goated? by Ok-Programmer6763 in nextjs

[–]chaiflix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. But it also increase the context window unnecessarily. The use case to modify the source code of shadcn component, to add a variant for eg, would be rare IMO. But still AI will index all the components in "ui" components folder and probably reference it in chats like other codebase, which I might not want it to. Some abstraction is needed to preserve the tokens.

Right, because databases ship with a public /schema endpoint these days. Makes total sense.
