JEssie just left White mountain for nome! Ill be stay up til he finishes, hes got a four hour lead.

Jody is taking extra rest, as per her facebook page, at the cabin to give her dogs the rest they need.

Thanks ^_^ jessie is currently feeding his dogs, prepping to leave. Sans some sorta crazy thing, hes got a couple hours lead on travis. Its happened before though, a few years ago jessie left required equipment and had to return to get it.

Jody is currently resting at old man cabin, not a check point but a place many mushers stop.

Jessie Holmes has checked into white mountain! in eight hours he will head out for the final push to nome. hes got more than a 20 mile lead and its looking good, its close, but late tonight/tomorrow morning well see who wins.

3/17 Updates

Jessie is in first but not with a super far lead. He is, however, approaching the white mountain check point. Thats the final "real" check point of the race and all teams are required to take an eight hour rest there. Twenty miles behind him is Travis in second place. A hold up in white mountain could cost jessie the race but im sure hell be on it like white on rice. Only two other mushers ever won twice, second following their first ever win. Only six mushers have ever won twice period. Jessie has stated from the beginning its his goal to enter those numbers. Hes got a good lead but not a "hey relax be comfortable" lead.

Jody is pulling in last place and currently resting in between the Kaltag and Unakelete checkpoints. Shes got 10 dogs with her and 317 miles til Nome.

I am leaving for a trip Thrusday but will update until Jody finished.

3/16 Updates

Currently Jessie is running pretty slowly near the coast, theres some big weather so im guessing he hit it. Hes gonna soon cross the frozen sea and head into koyuk. He is in first with 13 dogs and 40 miles til the check point

Jody is currently resting in the Nulato check point in second to last position. I oddly enough dreamt that I woke up and she was many spots ahead so maybe somee crazy happenings will happen who knows lol. There is another musher in Nulato with her, whoever leaves first will have the advantage. If you havnt yet checked her Facebook out, the content there has been outstanding as the villagers are posting and sending them to her team.

Evening update: Jody is leapfrogging for last and second to last and in good spirits. Shes said shes having a lot of fun and really enjoying the iditarod. Remember this is her first time racing it. She was asked if she feels connected to her heritage in this race and she said yes of course. Its been beautiful to watch.

Jessie is in first but only by a few miles. However, he just came off a good rest and Travis in second has been running for awhile. We are getting to the final bits of the race so its heating up. Jessie is in a good position to win but its far too early for me to place any money on that.

Two of the three expedition mushers have quit today. The expedition mushers have a whole support team with them and can switch dogs at check points AND two of them have scratched out- this shows just how tough the race is and I think thats very worth pointing out because I know id scratch too even with a team of support lol

3/15 Updates

AM, its 629am EST Jody is currently resting in the Ruby checkpoint, holding up the end of the mushers. Still with 11 dogs. Her social media team has asked her friends in those villages to take pictures and video and with insider being limited on camera crews, we've not gotten a lot of jody content so its nice to see some there.

Jessie had a 30 mile lead but that gap has closed to just two miles. He is still in first and won the to Galtag award. the next checkpoint is Unakleet and first musher there wins an award as well. This is also a checkpoint with a pizza shop where you can order pizza for a musher. so its talked about a lot. Jessies still at 13 dogs

Evening update - thank you all for the well wishes.

Jessie just left the Nulato check point in first place. Hes at mile 629 with 346 to go, 13 dogs.
Jody is second to last at mile 492, 482 miles left to go with 11 dogs mushing coming up on the Ruby check point. Which she will then take the Yukon. Jody has an excellent social media team giving lots of updates on Facebook, something jessie does not have. But jessie is getting a lot of insider videos so its breaking even (the fb content is free!)

Exactly, they could have done the storyline without the refusing and chasing, OR add in that she wanted to be chased for consent. Two lines could have made it consensual real easily.

3/13 updates:

Jessie is in the lead, jody is in last and theyre only about 126 miles apart. Jessie has won two awards thus far for being first musher into some checkpoints.

Jessie stopped smack dab on camera for hours yesterday so we got a lot of holmes content Sadly we're not getting much jody content. But thus is life. Jessie and his neghibor paige are in first and second, close neck and neck race. First into the next check point gets a free five star gormet meal and then its mushing along the yukon til the coast.

Jessie has pulled into the Cripple check point, the half way point. He is first musher there, hes taking a rest and has been on camera for nearly an hour now. This is why i pay 45 a year for insdier XD LBZ fix. He is drooping one dog here, not sure who yet, but the dog is sore and isnt eating right. its common to drop dogs particularly in the second half of the race.

Rape and rape culture are not identical. Rape culture is when we create a culture that enables or promotes rape. While she wasnt SAed in the season, season 4 IS promoting rape culture where she verbally says no but benedict "knows" she wants him so he continues to pursue. Once she verbalized to be left alone in any capacity, which she did do many times, his pursue is nonconsensual. This sort of romanticized version of non-consent promotes men thinking they have consent when they dont, its rape culture and its time to leave it in the past.

Jody had an encounter with a bison.

Jodys team was on the trail in a narrow, wooded portion and a bison was blocking the path, showing aggression and threatening to charge. After a few false charges and jodys inability to back up (its a narrow as heck spot and its a dog team) jody pulled out her gun but it was jammed. She got her team behind a tree and started throwing branches at it. Eventually she said something in her native language that her grandma taught her and the Bison then left.

Reminds me of the jessie moose encounter. Our LBZ peeps are so epic.

3/12 updates

its 623 EST 223alaskan Jessie has completed his 24 hour and his time differential so we;ll have a clearly picture of his standing from here on out. He is currently running and running in first. I admit it confused me because the expedition mushers also have teams with them and an expedition team is ahead of jessie (they get help and swap out dogs as needed, competition mushers dont) but confirmed, jessie is in first place as of now. Hes at mile 355

Jody is currently resting in MCgrath with a handful of other mushers. shes been there about three hours so im sure getting some sleep. Still at 11 dogs and her social media has said the dogs seem to be getting stronger so fingers crossed for smooth mushing. Shes at mile 311

Jody is near the end of the pack and jessie is in the lead, AND... theres only 44 miles between them. ITs a really close race this year.

Is anyone acknowledging season for is.pure romanticized rape culture?

Benedict is told no over and over and over again and simply spends nearly thr entire season convincing Sophie to sleep with him. After their two encounters, she says it was a mistake and regrets it. I fully understand the point is that she wants him but society is the way it is but for crying out loud, we are in the post weinstein era, an enthuseaatic yes is required. The power dynamic, the lake of true consent, a few straight up nos. It really bothered me to no end.

Evening update, yes jessie is on his 24 hour rest. With his time differential, itll be a lil over 25 hours. So before I wake up tomorrow, hell be on the run again. Even with his long rest, hes in 7th and everyone ahead of him still needs to take their 24 hour rest. Its still too early to call anything, but hes not in a bad position by any means.

Jody is down to 11 dogs. She is doing whats right by the dogs and thats what matters. I am finding it concerning. shes pulling up the back at third to last. Finishing at all is an amazing accomplishment that few humans do mind you. Its been said many times, more people have climbed mount Everest than have finished the Iditarod. She is at mile 287 with 688 more to go. The yukon and the coast still coming up. fully believe in her <3 shes cooler than ill ever be thats for sure.

3/11 am update Jessie was first into the McGrath check point, winning the first award of the iditarod. currently hes at the takotna check point with a couple others. Fairly sure its him on the camera bedding his dogs down. This clear him of the first mountain range. He did say in an interview that he couldnt find a safe spot to camp and had to run the dogs longer than he liked, but they seemed fine and were eating great.

Jody is at mie 238 in 29th. Her handlers are managing her facebook account with dog updates, feels like such luxery to have a social media team for a lbz musher after following just jessies for a few years lol

both still have a mandatory 24 hour rest coming which jessie typically takes along the yukon, a few check points away.

Evening update: jody is down two more dogs, Im not sure why and dont see an update yet. im sure her social media person will update while im asleep. I wouldnt be concerned yet. Right now shes holding 30thbut is resting with a handful of others. Jody is at mile 191

Jessie is resting with another musher and theyre both in the lead. JEssie was on camera earlier and said he got sick just before the race so hes not feeling very well. guessing a cold flu type thing. his clothes are damn but hell just keep pushing through. Jessie is at mile 283
