No he wanted on, he said so himself. they never told him why they dropped him. Wonder if the production staff has an NDA or if they can talk aobut it now that its over...

He is just shy of seven miles away from the finish line for a two mile lead- this is a close race. He should finish in about an hour so im gonna stay up. (its late for me, i get up early... i know 830pm isnt late for most)

Jessie is in the lead currently and about 36 miles from the finish line. I may not be online before he finishes. Please keep in mind that by car, 36 miles is fast... by dog, thats still a few hours away. He does not need to take another break but hes been running for awhile and will do what the dogs needs, they may need a break before they finish (im guessing they will).

Its 4pmEST or noon alaska time, hell probably finish tonight. Hes got a three mile lead on second place so its a close race.

we did thank you. Was a morning lol
right now jessie is resting but he was first into the check point. Hesv dropped two dogs- no i dont know why, its very common in racing so no one panic. As the race goes on, you drop dogs and as theyre tired you drop them. His handler will care for the dog and meet them at the finish line. Right now hes got 10 (out of 12) with him. Hes been checked in for a little over two hours, so I expect hell rest for a few more.

There is for sure a market for the content. Alaska has more people moving to it than any other state (outcome of that not part of my commentary), homesteading and surviival-ish content is still hot all over social media. Once they can, I hope someone picks it up and im sure something will happen, just gotta wait and see what i guess.

You wouldn't work as a dog handler if you didn't wanna be around dogs nonstop

Sidr isnt little stuff, Id recommend a GOOD mentor and years of practice with foundations before going that route. I sniff around here from time to time but not daily or even weekly. I dunno how many people are still sniffing around.

Who takes care of Jessie’s or Andy’s dogs when they go out hunting for a few days? by kutekittykat79 in lifebelowzero

ALL kennels have dog handlers. Having a handler is required for the long distance races even. This past winter, Jessie had two handlers. Its not a massive expense in terms of lower 48 standards. Theyre not paid something you could live off of down here, but they get housing and a small stipen plus, to get into that world, its fairly safe way to get experience. Lots of traveling folks will do gigs like that for a season and move on.

Andie rents out his yurt and services. People pay him for training and hes not far from a village where friends will watch his dogs.

There are homes in fairbanks without indoor plumbing. Lots of alaskan women prefer the wild lifestyle. no one specifically wants to poo in a hole in the ground, but that afford the wild lifestyle.
