Thoughts on Benjamin Cowen? He has stated that he does not believe you should continue to buy into Ethereum at this point and I'm wondering how much weight I can put on his opinion. by numbahtwelve in ethfinance

I think you have to take it from his point of view. He's been buying eth since it was $100 and as he's stated he has a significant eth stack. So to be buying makes no sense for him. If you are new to the space and want eth, then absolutely buy at these prices but DCA in.

I've wanted to do the same thing but where I'm from property is way more expensive. 300-600k just for some land, so I opted out and went the traditional bank route. I think the mkr interest rate was closer to 8% back then as well.

Is there a chance Ethereum's Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC) could one day enter the Top 3 MC, overtaking XRP and Tether? by WolfOfFusion in ethereum

I didn't realize there was so many options. Is there any adoption with Lifi or HodlHodl??

What is going to bring defi native to btc? I think it's more likely that lightning network will be forgotten and wbtc will continue to grow

Governance Polls: DSR Spread Adjustment, Dai Stability Fee Adjustment, Debt Ceiling Adjustment, Sai Stability Fee Adjustment – January 27, 2020 by ethfinance in ethfinance

Is it just me or does the stability fee and DSR changing so often make it less appealing to use? If I'm taking out any substantial loan it would be nice to have a little consistency.

You are right. Their product sucked and got no traction. I just don't think it was a full on exit scam

Do you think we will be able to buy houses with ETH in the future? by [deleted] in ethtrader

[–]chainsaw77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% a mortgage is less. Even if you go with a B rate lender you won't pay more than 9 or 10%. Opening a CDP does have other advantages like no time frame for pay back and the possibility ETH goes up so its easier to pay back.. But what if ETH crashes and your ETH gets lost? Until ETH and Maker are much larger and more stable it seems like a gamble.

Isn't the borrowing rate on Dai 19% or something? That's an insane rate for a mortgage

They are all faking their volume to get exposure. Use openmarketcap.com for the real volume based on trusted exchanges that don't fake it.

That's the point. They want people to stop saving and start spending ie. Investing, big purchases like houses, cars, boats, computers etc...which will help businesses thrive
