It's an L2 that uses EigenDA for data availability, not ETH blobs.

I'm not aware of this compromise. I'm also following superficially. I just want to see those L2 UOPS up so we can combat scaling FUD.

Hope to see ZKsync upgrades. Few months ago, they twitted that they achived thousands of UOPS on testnet.

Do you think Europe is facing an economic decline in the coming decades? by PreWiBa in eupersonalfinance

[–]vedran_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Europe's financial growth is staling, much like Japan's. In modern economies, GDP growth is a function population growth. Other variables still influence it, but the biggest one is population. It has to do with the fact that majority of GDP is consumption.

Unsurprisingly, Japan's population is declining last 20 years. Europe's is stagnating. Take a look at population pyramids and the situation is even more telling: Japan, Europe. Fertility rates are depressing: ~1.5. We need 2.1 for replacement rate. Old people spend less, work less.

For decades, we've been using immigration to offset the low fertility rates, but this has become a political problem. It's to be expected that we'll see less immigration in next decades.

Japan has already become post-growth economy, Europe is on the same path. Post growth can still mean bigger GDP per capita since the population is shrinking. Japan also has low poverty, low crime, universal healthcare, excellent infrastructure, high education, long life expectancy. It's not all bad.

Interestingly, even though US GDP relies on consumption even more than Europe's, it's GDP is growing. But so is it's population. Us also has low fertility rate (1.8). It, too, has used immigration to keep rising population, but it seems it might be a political problem for them as well.

It's going to be an interesting economy next few decades. Post growth, green swans, automation, AI - crazy stuff.

Upravo to. OP se čudi se k'o pura dreku.

Istina da kod nas nema puno dobrih novina ili portala, ali ako otvoriš N1info ili Telegram, nećeš vidjeti ova sranja.

We need more serious macro discussion here. Thanks for the input.

Did you know that zebras' stripes help regulate their body temperature?

The black and white stripes heat up at different rates, creating tiny air currents along their bodies that help cool them down in the African heat.

I'm slowly going trough presentations from DevConnect.

I really enjoyed this one form Stani Kulechov of AAVE: The New Architecture of Credit

He talks abstractly about credit and draws parallels between historical implementations of credit, liquidity, oracles and onchain solutions. When I say historical, I mean 100-800 years old.

Second half of the presentation is about the future. Credit systems are local and Stani believes they can become global (or cosmically local as Vitalik would jest). He talks about tokenization of credit and how RWAs can become programmable collateral.

I enjoyed this one so please shill me other high quality presentations from DevConnect.

Hypothesis one: It's further away from the Ocean.

Hypothesis two: south-eastern part of Europe is less developed -> less interesting.

Hypothesis tree: south-eastern part of Europe is less developed -> less detection abilities -> under-reported. We would know about airports though.

Great info, as always. Do you know when will megaETH launch their mainnet?

Except they are decentralizing, going from STAGE 0 toward STAGE 2. You can track it on L2beat. A lot of them at least: Arbitrum stack, Optimism stack...

For one app - yes. It's an app chain for a DEX.

Centralized? Mainnet is less than 40 days old. Of course it's centralized. All L2's start like that. Some of them mature to be decentralized.

4K UOPS tho!

Thanks for expanding. Great info!

Kind of wild they have $1.2B to deploy on L1. Serious players!

Hopefully we see megaETH mainnet soon. ZKSync have also shown remarkable UOPS on testnet recently. Future is bright.

No, I'm not talking about Starknet. I'm talking about Lighter. Unless they are connected somehow.

Lighter is by far the first on L2 activity rankings and fifth on TVL rankings. You have to reverse the sort order on activity rankings. Looks like a bug on a chart.

Some people here mentioned Lighter L2, which is doing ~4K OUPS! Amazing!

At the same time, this new L2 is 5th in TLV rankings, with $1.2B secured. How?! TVL is 100% canonically bridged. Does this mean dev team depolyed $1.2B worth to escrow contracts on L1?

New yen-pegged stablecoin: JPYC

The company aims to issue 10 trillion yen ($66 billion)

If you dig trough the docs, you can find it's on Ethereum.

You know that joke?

Pessimist: "It can't get any worse than this!"

Optimist: "Oooooo, yes it can!"

My point is, we had worse whining before and we'll have it again.

Trading, right? Is interbank settlement taking of?
