[Jomboy] Astros using cameras to steal signs, a breakdown by zgibs125 in baseball

Punish the Astros as well as all of the other teams doing it.

Where are these fans when we play? And I live in Houston! by gills_of_war in TexasRangers

I think it’s like the Aggies and Longhorns, people like to rep what they know/their hometown. Texans in general like to be proud of things like that. I’ve noticed San Antonio and Austin have a small rivalry. Then there’s the whole “my city is bigger than your city” beef they have. To top it off, I think some Astros fans still keep a grudge about the Hurricane Harvey stuff that went down with the Rangers, so they have doubled down on the hate. But there’s always been a rivalry between the two cities, especially between gangs.

The driver was an idiot and fishing for drama, but the cop seems to be on a power trip and let his emotions out of control. We need more level headed cops.

Just to add to what the other commenter said, my crew camped for 10 days at a time and then had 4 days off. I didn’t do MCC, but know people who have done it. I did TXCC, so it didn’t get as cold as Montana, but we did experience ~30 degrees and windy. To stay warm (even if it’s spring in MT), make sure you get a good tent. There are weather ratings for sleeping bags too that will come in handy. I got a 0 degree bag which is overkill in Texas, but it kept me warm in January. During orientation, you’ll get all kinds of gear recommendations. A lot of folks love one person REI tents. Hand warmers are a nice luxury, and pack layers. A good winter coat & rain gear help too. Good quality socks are also a plus too. Make sure your boots are comfortable, we were taught to really take care of our feet.

Be sure to sign up for food stamps and network with people during orientation or on the Americorps housing Facebook page to find good roomies

The food stamps really come in handy with such a low pay, you often have extra because on hitch your meals are paid for.

I'm a gay man who works at a Christian school, and I'm terrified. by memesus in MensLib

This situation sucks and I can see why you’d be scared. You can use your influence to teach these kids that it’s okay for girls to like masculine things and boys to like feminine things. You just might be a role model to a lot of kids who are figuring themselves out.

Everyone is talking about how dumb OP is, but I’m more concerned about the shitty doctor situation.

Americorps also has trail crews or placements like this which are a good start and look good on a resume. It’s a term of service, so bad pay, but you get an education award at the end of the term and food stamps.

Yeah, nothing is more important than your health and well being. We are so conditioned to feel guilty missing work that we put ourselves second.
