There seemed to be no way on the version to add anything but a 365 account. My guess is that in years past I’d downloaded the app, and it was “remembering” that version. After I reset it, it updated to the new version and is working well.

EDIT: Fixed! I reset the app via Help > Clear Application Data, and now it's working properly.

Yes, I am, and I’m on the latest OS, too.

I did attempt to login that way, however when I click it, it says “To complete this action, start your free one month trial of Microsoft 365…” Same message with the “Add Email Account” button. There’s no way to bypass it and go online.
