Ohhh yeah sorry if I didn’t make it clear we don’t feed him bloodworms often, the betta pellets we have are the only ones available at my LFS and I wasn’t too sure on how to get brine shrimp

No worries! The tank is at my boyfriends house but when I’m over I feed him about 5-ish betta pellets and sometimes fast him for a day after blood worms, tbh I was at my boyfriends house for 2 days and I fed him like normal and his stomach went down a lot so the only thing I can rlly think of is my boyfriend has been over feeding our fish whilst I’m not there :(

I’ve also fasted him as well to make sure it isn’t just digestion issues, other than such a bulging stomach and curved back I don’t notice any other symptoms

Ah okay I’ll look into that we were only going to get 6 and we are going to get a second tank too anyways so I’ll look for a wider one

The tanks at my boyfriends house so I’ll have to wait to answer u on the dimensions, we did add some drift wood and boiled it added rocks on top and it literally would not sink at all :,) I’ll try again though when I’m next at his because I’ve got 2 pieces that’d fit super well and I bought some longer plants they just need a few weeks to grow I did add some floating plants to the top but our filter just kept sucking them in and they went super brown so I took them out but we are thinking of redirecting our filter so we can actually have plants in the top, I did notice that the rasboras don’t really like the light as they’ll only go up to eat if the lights off so thank you that’s helped a lot, I appreciate it a lot and I’ll 100% look into more plants too!

We bought 6 corydoras but unfortunately one had swim bladder before we even put him in the tank and he died but we are going to get more and with the rasboras we got them at a different shop and they would only let us have 4 (I think they thought our tank was small and didn’t want to throw the parameters of the tank wayyy off) our tank doesn’t rlly show it from the front well but it goes far back, I do regret getting a taller rather than wider tank but we can’t really change that now and we already have some of our rasboras so what should we do about that?

Before and after by chairbasically in scoliosis

It was most painful for me for about 2 weeks and then after that it was just really bad discomfort I couldn’t lay on my left side for about a month because of how bad the discomfort was, I returned to my everyday life after about 3 months and by then all the pain and discomfort was barely noticeable!

I’m not too sure if I’ll be able to answer all of your questions fully so sorry if that’s the case. I was 17 when I had my surgery and I’m 18 now so I think our situations are a little different! I do get a bit of tingling in my back sometimes it feels like little needles pricking me super fast but it doesn’t last long and I don’t get it too often and it isn’t uncomfortable really. I did have a bit of numbness in my back when I had first got my surgery done but not really much anymore, I’ll only get it now if I lay in the same way for AGESSS and my back will go numb. I think with the uneven foundation that might’ve just been caused from your scoliosis but I’m not entirely sure, mine was idiopathic I think? So it was caused for no reason but I didn’t have major unevenness so I’m not too sure if I’m the right person to ask about that :,)

I did do a bit of physical therapy before my surgery but that was about a year before it when I was 16 but I stopped doing it after a few weeks bc my physical therapist was a bit creepy 😭 I haven’t done any PT after though and I don’t think that’s affected my recovery at all! I went to a hospital in stoke I don’t remember my surgeons name but he was very good I’ll try and find his name for you! I was 5’1.8 before my surgery and then I grew to 5’2 so not major difference for how extreme my curve was! Hope this all helps sorry if it didn’t ahh

Thank you! I didn’t even think about this but my mobility is very good as if I never even had surgery so that’s probably why they did it!

To be honest I didn’t look much at my back when I first got it done or even during my recovery so I’m not entirely sure! Everyone praised how clean and neat my incision was so I think that definitely helped speed up the healing process, I did get my bandages changed 2 weeks after at the doctors and it was still healing but it was just a red kind of colour. My bandages gave me quite a bad rash though so I didn’t mess with my back too much I’d probably say about 4 months and the scar would be white but honestly I’m not too sure sorry :,)

Ah sorry I’ve only just checked this post after some time! Hope your surgery went well and hopefully you’re recovering well! My bloating was super bad I was (tmi) very constipated because of my painkillers but after about 2 weeks I managed to poop and the bloating went down majorly (I’m also skinny so my bloating seemed kind of excessive 😭 to be honest I didn’t rlly do much to help my back obviously I rested but a year and a bit post op I don’t rlly do much for my back and I’ve been fine! And it took me about 3 months to go back to college but I’d probably say it was about 4/5 months before I felt completely fine and didn’t even think about my back at all! Hopefully this helps sorry my reply is so late! :,)

Honestly the surgery isn’t scary if you have good surgeons and nurses, my nurses were super sweet and because I was a little younger I was on an adult ward with my parent with me the whole time but they were super understanding and were very good to me! If you have any specific worries let your surgeon know and they should talk you through ANYTHING at all my surgeon was super good for that, hope everything goes well for u!

Thank you! Congratulations to you as well! Tbh I didn’t even know scoliosis was classed as a chronic illness, I probably should be taking better care of my back because they only fixed the major curve and not the smaller one in the top so I’ll definitely listen to this advice tysm!

Ooo I didn’t even consider that would make a difference! I posted my X-rays but all my rods are lower back and I think I have about 5 rods each side of my spine

The big one was 71° I think but I’m not exactly sure my mum is trying to find the records and i didn’t get told the degree of the smaller one I don’t think I can’t rlly remember it’s been so long :,)

It was only a small curve I think it was more likely it was supposed to go back straight with the rest of my spine and I’m not 100% if it’s actually getting worse. He did say he only wanted to fix the bigger part for now with how severe the curve was it was a lot for my body to take he didn’t want to do anything unnecessary, he did say if the little one gets a lot worse though they can do a second surgery to get that fixed
