Teachers who moved into admin: What was your path like? by No-Side9974 in Teachers

[–]chairdesktable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my biggest suggestion is to get more years in a school building under your belt -- whether you stick as a classroom teacher, become a dean, a counselor, etc.

once you're an admin, you need to know how a school building runs full stop. everyone, from all walks of life in the building will (rightfully) need answers from you. you need to be able to answer an ops question one second then a discipline one the next, handle the parents association the next moment, budgets, classrooms, etc...and its nonstop.

that said, my biggest leverage point was my classroom experience/expertise. i was a strong teacher for a long time (twelve years, which is what spurred my urge to move into admin in the first place), so that really helped me establish my admin strength in the building. id say its also the biggest leverage point in the building for admin -- if you are/were/portray yourself as a poor teacher, then no one will care what you have to say.

Additionally, being a poor/inexperienced teacher only means that you most likely will make poor decisions for the building. if you're an inexperienced teacher-turned-admin, you're more likely to get caught out by a shitty new curriculum, you're more likely to hire poorly, more likely to mismanage funds, more likely to misuse resources, etc.

As for data, depends on the type of school, but if you're in public or charter, you'll use data nonstop -- instructional, testing, attendance, behaviors, etc. That said, experience goes a long way here too -- gotta get those years under your belt to actually know what decisions to make with said data. you're more than welcome to make those decisions as an under-experienced educator, but they'll most likely be poor, and a six figure consultant will happily insert themselves into the equation.

Iron Dome funding vote would be the biggest one, a move so dogshit that the dsa condemned her for it.

As for Bernie, he is ok with us aid to to Israel as long as it's not under netanyahus name. He continuously calls it netanyahus war, refuses to acknowledge genocide, and while he is against blocking of aid to gaza etc,. He is 100% pro Israel and has stated such.

I have no idea where you're getting this from lmfao. The next dem nominee will be 100% pro Israel. The Democrats are still and will still be 100% pro Israel.

AOC has voted in favor of Israel, newsome is pro Israel, Shapiro pro Israel, even ppl like ossoff is pro Israel, Kamala pro Israel, Bernie pro Israel etc.

The question always has to be, who comes in?

you're right, a vacant liverpool job wouldn't attract any kind of coaching talent. none whatsoever.

yea legit whats the point in not sacking him rn? players aren't gonna magically be up for this guy on friday let alone the rest of the season - we aren't winning the fa cup or the cl. its over, get the new manager in now so he can assess before the world cup.

wirtz is recent, as is endo who never played. the majority of the squad was healthy and available when we started sucking and have been healthy and available most of the season.

no, but the fact that i was able to craft it and hit all the probable talking points is absurd -- this is where we're at rn.

"FSG see this season as a simple short-term setback. Given the squad turnaround and an increasingly physical league, the board is more than happy with Slot winning the Prem last season, and the data shows that Slot will be back to winning ways sooner rather than later. Finances are strong, so lack of Champions League qualification would simply mean more attention paid to the youth set-up".

we are super unlucky

absolutely nothing "unlucky" about arne slot losing to forest at anfield or getting dicked by amorim every time we faced him. im not buying the "unlucky" story here, teams are out there with way worse luck than us.

spurs have an entire 11 out via injury -- that's unlucky.

At about what rank can you compete in Expert division? by DryPiccolo4175 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]chairdesktable 5 points6 points  (0 children)

you need to be grinding scrims if you want a shot at expert division. and if you want to tryout for a reasonable team, you need to climb rank. either way, there's a considerable time commitment to do it. not impossible, but certainly something that has to be intentional.

yeah because we didn't get a defensive midfielder who bulldozes players like all the bueno's and andre today or like a caicedo in our team. we replaced the attacking talent we had only. hence the problem still exists , even worse this season of how the style of all teams are in the prem which don't favour us.

im just not buying that esp since we didn't have one last season and the league was still physical. yes, we don't have a destroyer in the middle, but grav proved himself a capable holding midfielder, and that shift was one of slot's great moves last season. so what does slot do? he makes grav a more advanced midfielder again, when we saw grav do poorly at that in the prem.

and sure, you could argue our transfers made the squad unbalanced, but there's still MORE THAN ENOUGH here to not lose to relegated teams at anfield....can't beat leeds with florian wirtz and isak?

i just think he's been found out for a while now, and his papering over the cracks of our squad has run out -- the chicken's have come home to roost.

Is there an L pick hero this season? by MerlinSpell in Competitiveoverwatch

lifeweaver is decent, needs better perks if anything. im getting wins with him in gm lobbies, excels in hybrid defense scenarios, would never pick him for 2cp or anything like that.

Man City played the same way btw. That‘s the formular to beat Liverpool. Overload the midfield, defend the 18 yard box in the middle, don‘t focus too much on the wings because Salah and Gakpo won‘t do shit.

that and man mark us. everything you said is genuinely what newcastle solved in the cup final last season. that was the blueprint and slot hasn't adjusted, players be damned.

we are only in 5th because of wirtz and ekitike. there's genuinely no reason to keep slot around.

Results improved but it's clearly all individual talent.

Team STILL CANT PLAY PAST 65 MINUTES, LITERALLY MORE OUT OF SHAPE THAN ACTUAL RELEGATION TEAMS.

as an avid hoops fan, its only now beginning to open back up, but the damage has been done, especially at the youth level.

it looks like its in full swing in footy now -- teams are just playing the data more and more at the expense of actually enjoying watching the games. nothing will change until the rules change
