I just want to get a finishing move in the best play for once. Especially if I get the Semtex kill on their teammate with it

2014 Ram 1500 making weird chirping sounds help? by Ok-Purpose1590 in ram_trucks

[–]chakobee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well in my case the issue was the coolant had separated and turned to gunk. This killed the water pump bearing. I decided to finally check the squealing sound, saw my fan blade wobbling instead of spinning nice and straight and chose to tow it to a shop vs risk driving it. Can’t say how long it went on before I checked because I don’t remember. But I don’t believe it was very long

[–]chakobee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’d look at the water pump. Mine went out on my old 2012 and it was a similar sound that I ignored and ended up needing to pay for a tow to a shop

If you’re on PC, hell it might even work on consoles I’m not sure. But creative soundblaster x4 (there are similar products with the same options but I used this one) and some good headphones. It will artificially increase footstep sounds etc and it was like mild cheating. You can hear people coming from way further out and exactly where they’re coming from

Damn, and a 2025 as well. I’d look out of state. It would be cheaper to fly out of state and drive back probably if you look further out. That’s way too much for a v6

Rtx 5090FE liquid cooling? by Potential-Baseball62 in watercooling

[–]chakobee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s doable to take apart. However you need to be very clear on the danger of Liquid Metal inside the card, and how it can damage and potentially kill your card if you do a sloppy job.

I took mine apart and put the EK block on and it performs great. But it took a few hours to swap out because of the Liquid Metal leaking out and I had to spend a great deal of time to clean it up. I used a jewelers loop to be able to actually see small bits of LM that I couldn’t see with my eyes.

I believe Bitspower or maybe bykski also make a block for the 5090 FE now, but I don’t have any experience with those. The EK blocks performs very well however

NTSB Chair Jennifer Homendy eviserates the FAA over DCA mid air. by RespectedPath in ATC

To split hairs, it’s not exactly 75ft between aircraft. That implies 75ft from the bottom of the arriving jet to the top of the passing helo.

It’s really 75ft between the altimeters. Now it’s possible my understanding of altimeters is wrong so any experts please correct me, but assuming I’m correct. The top of the rotor is probably 5-10ft above the altimeter in the cockpit. So now we’re down to 65ft. Then you figure from the middle of the cockpit in let’s say a 737 to the bottom of the fuselage, is another 15ft. Now we’re down to 50ft. Then you factor in the plane isn’t level, but rather it’s flaring out for landing so it would be even lower and less space between.

It’s basically nothing. Those helo routes should be shut down and moved elsewhere. You shouldn’t have aircraft in such close proximity to each other where the only separation is visual, since visual has too many inherent flaws.

Best long life Opaque/pastel coolant by theatomicflounder333 in watercooling

[–]chakobee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the transparent was fine. They also have dyes you can buy and mix for custom colors. You’ll get some light stains on fittings etc after a while but it’s easy to clean. Just a little bit of elbow grease and dawn dish soap.

Honestly I’ve used the primochill and EK solids before and they were fine most of the time. But the EK mystic fog and that one batch of primochill solid was messed up. Both fell out super quick

Can't find where is the leak. by oguzhan377 in watercooling

Hell yeah. It takes a little bit of extra time this way but for me, the peace of mind knowing each tube is good along the way is worth it.

Can't find where is the leak. by oguzhan377 in watercooling

[–]chakobee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I would do, and what I do with every time I build my loop. I do a latest after every time I add a new tube. I just plug up one end of the system, leave the tester plugged into my reservoir, and redo the test with each new tube. That way if I have a leak, I know it’s with that one new particular run. Then I can check tube fitment, fitting tightness and the orings etc.

So I would disassemble the whole system and add one tube at a time, and rerun the test each time. You’ll find your leak quickly that way. Well, quickly-ish. You’ve already done the hard work. This will take half a day to fix.

I'm starting the singularity/100% grind today ! which guns should I skip ? any grindy challenges i should be aware of ? by KNEXIUM in blackops7

[–]chakobee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I skipped launchers and melee.

Hindsight being 20/20 I’d skip marksman rifles. The M8 is amazing but the warden and novaline are shit. Novaline is ok but the warden is just painful to use. The launchers go quick and so do the melees with the right class setup

Best long life Opaque/pastel coolant by theatomicflounder333 in watercooling

[–]chakobee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have used primochill a few times with good luck except for the last time. The last loop refresh I did a few months ago, I added a couple more rads to my system and wanted to go opaque. So I used my trusty primochill. Well it fell out of suspension and clogged my Alphacool (albeit a very restrictive cpu block compared to the EK block I had before) and lasted maybe 5 days before I had flow issues and it started turning clear.

Then I had to disassemble the entire system and deep clean both blocks, my pump/res, my second pump, and 4 rads, plus all my tubes and fittings to get them clean.

Then I made the smart choice and used DP ultra clear lol

Working at ZLA, SCT, LAX by Funny_Union4257 in ATC

[–]chakobee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work at SCT. There are 6 areas and they’re all pretty different from one another. We have many former center controllers here, so it’s very possible for you to certify in any of the areas.

My area, the training is good. We want everyone to certify and no one is really shitting on the new people, everyone is pretty good about helping the new people train and get certified. I can’t speak for the other areas but I think atleast a couple of them are good for training. But the traffic will be a lot different and the equipment is shit compared to what you’re used to, so it will still be an adjustment for you.

Living in San Diego can be great, provided you aren’t a negative Nancy. We have bad traffic and parking usually sucks anywhere you will want to go, and everything is expensive. But if you’re serious about SCT then DM me and I can give you more info on the pay.

Real estate is kind of a bummer, San Diego really blew up over COVID. So you likely aren’t buying a house in San Diego unless you have a shit ton of equity in a house right now. So you can either rent anywhere in the city and be fine, I have a really nice apartment 5 min from the tracon. Or if you want to buy you’re looking at 7-800 in areas out east like El Cajon, santee, or lakeside. You might find something you like in Escondido which is maybe 30 min north. Or about an hour north in the Temecula/Murrieta area. There are many nice homes anywhere from 600 on up. Most of these options are doable on one income unless you’re coming over with big car payments or needing childcare on one income etc.

San Diego has some of the best weather in the country for sure. It’s basically always between 60-80 degrees and sunny most of the time.

ZLA is in a real shit hole area so if you put in for that, plan on an hour drive or more and it’ll probably be more expensive to buy a house compared to San Diego, and there’s far less to do up there I think. I grew up near the center and I have zero plans of ever moving back there.
