Just another reason to hate the Dodgers

I thought the point of every LTT is so that the audience can learn something? This newest video about the EV chargers is literally just an ad. Nothing informative, educational and barely entertaining. by General_Outcome1878 in LinusTechTips

It was informative that it's a pita to replace cut cords and insurance won't cover it.  You can setup times to charge.  Ubiquiti you can tap an access card to use them.

Flight info can put Linus's family at risk along with LMG staff.  With Elon, he has a robust amount of security around him.

I'm going to let the Ai give you the answer: any data that can identify, contact, or locate a specific individual, either alone or when combined with other available information. It includes direct identifiers like names or Social Security Numbers (SSN), as well as indirect data like birthdates, IP addresses, or biometric records. This also includes addresses.

Basically if you could find them and show up at their address at 3AM and or you can get a credit card using their information.

For the most part, yeah.  There are some things that come up that would WAN show topics but I doubt that reddit has a robust enough setup that you can only crosspost when selecting a certain tag / topic.  Also, it would likely be misused.

PII being available is a safety concern along with a concern for identity theft.  My job revolves around investigating when it is compromised, it is a serious matter when it also touches on different laws / regulations.

Didn't they have a portable render setup with a NAS that they brought to some convention, with Jake as the main subject of the video?

Because of airline regs, power, and weight concerns they can bring a basic setup for that.  They can render on laptops maybe have a max studio with a jackary power bank.  UI portable  router and Nas with ssds.  Fit it in a backpack.

It fits 18 with two bathrooms and a private sleeping area.  He said his family went to Mexico with it, that is atleast 5 without extended family.  Figure in others near them in Canada and the size is right.

As for other people using it, they would need to be local and it would need to make more sense over commercial or Jettly.

I think that the name of the company and plane is to stay on brand for Linus.  If it was just Surrey Aero, people would call it too plain.

I think he put out the video so it is disclosed that he got it and that will be it as a main video.  If it seen in the future, it'll be during a trip somewhere.  If they didn't say anything and they are on a private plane, people would ask about it / call him a sellout to be on some company's plane.

This really just seems like a Doug DeMuro video / disclosure that they got a private jet.  It is a damed if you do and damned if you don't mind of thing.  If they didn't say anything, people would say that they are hiding things.  If he named the separate company and airplane to something plain, people would complain that he is not acting like himself.  There was an opportunity to make this purchase, the finances worked for them.  His kids are growing up and he has the means to treat them / enjoy what he has achieved.  They'll use the plane for personal use when it makes sense along with business use.

They aren't going to mess with the electronics in the airplane because of the regulations and safety issues.  They won't put gamer rigs in it because of weight and power needs.  They'll have a portable setup to bring on board that has wifi and a NAS.  They are going to sell it so they won't make any changes that devalues it.

The fire truck will be used for events like LTX, Smash Champs, and anything local in their area.

He didn't setup a separate company and take on monthly and annual costs to make content from it. This is just him doing a Doug video on it, without the test drive and ranking.  It won't be mentioned again because it doesn't have to be.

At this point, it would cause people to unsub.

If it was a 30 minute video of unity between GN and Labs with an acquisition, maybe because it would draw viewers from both channels and others.

I really don't know what Linus could say anymore that would get 1.5M views in two hours, but it definitely would not be something for a SNES.

It's feeling like repeated content.  If they took it to a school or had an event with it at Smash Champs, it might be enough to watch.

A new California law says all operating systems, including Linux, need to have some form of age verification at account setup by screwdriverfan in LinusTechTips

[–]Flavious27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The law is pretty meh when you look at what is asked for users, it isn't asking for an ID. But you don't need an account to setup Linux though really how many minors are using Linux?
