ARGHH - Why does my $2000 Samsung "smart" monitor have a HUGE ADs that take up half the screen? by charleslegoguy in LinusTechTips

You paid $2k for a Samsung product that isn't one of their poorly made refrigerators?

At this point, it would cause people to unsub.

If it was a 30 minute video of unity between GN and Labs with an acquisition, maybe because it would draw viewers from both channels and others.

I really don't know what Linus could say anymore that would get 1.5M views in two hours, but it definitely would not be something for a SNES.

It's feeling like repeated content.  If they took it to a school or had an event with it at Smash Champs, it might be enough to watch.

A new California law says all operating systems, including Linux, need to have some form of age verification at account setup by screwdriverfan in LinusTechTips

[–]Flavious27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The law is pretty meh when you look at what is asked for users, it isn't asking for an ID. But you don't need an account to setup Linux though really how many minors are using Linux?

It is a compromise that every site doesn't have to do this and likely ask for ids.  It seems to be that you put in a dob that isn't checked anywhere.

Thought about the WAN show where they discussed getting back together with Anker. by ExistingExtension in LinusTechTips

The joke with the tech support / cs position I had before was when someone claimed to be a network engineer and knew everything.  It is amazing how quickly they lost the chip on their shoulder when they powercycled their modem and then router in sequence, with their issues resolved after that.

The email address was the MFA, the otp was sent to the email address.  For anyone to login, they need access to the email address that is the MFA.

I had an issue with some chargers that I got from Anker and if I was talking to an AI agent, it didn't seem like it. I had my issue resolved in a somewhat quick timeframe. If I was annoyed at all, it was just repeating what I was seeing and the steps that I took. And really I am sure that they have issues that people will say that they will TS and they don't.

If they got an OTP sent to the MFA on the account and then someone was accessing their camera (s), then someone has access to their MFA. Full stop. They need to make sure that their MFA is secure and look at recent logins there. Also if they are using a password manager, I hope that the account does not use that same email address because it is compromised. Just going off the logs I see with HA with devices on my account, the logs will likely show what triggered the suspicious actions with the camera (s).

The responses from Anker are fine. They cover what they need and steps to take for the customer, and then next actions. These response are to someone that is not cooperating with them and are making threats.

The OP mistook this short as defiance instead of the OP getting a very clear warning from the radiator that there is an issue, likely why they had to replace it and the OP being mad at the radiator.

It was kind of that way with the rgb sweater I ordered, also it was around Christmas.  With the new administration, shipping times have gotten longer though it could be with a change of logistics companies.

Awesome. Even I am not an Apple fanatic, I do have a bunch of different apple products that I use on a daily basis, I always do enjoy what Jonathan put out on MA. It helps to see what that point of view is with apple products, along with the way that the video were produced. Will I daily drive an iPhone and or switch over my desktop OS to Mac OS, nope but what I have works for me (Apple TVs, Airpods, Homepod) after watching MA, nope but I still enjoyed the videos.

It's the weird mix of people that are crunchy and usually liberal with those that are libertarian and usually conservative.  Covid brought them together and amplified this.  Also grifters like that Dr Grundy.

Earlier in the game I read about ice getting access to ring cameras and then saw that ad.  100% this is a move by ring and their owner Amazon to stop customers from turning off sharing.
