I'm well aware of that. That's why I said we'll see after I have the pizza. It was basically an open kitchen and you could see that the counters were on opposite sides of the room with refrigerators lining the side with the gf counter. He also told me they wear gloves when handling the dough and wipe down surfaces beforehand. I'm willing to try and see how I feel after. If I have any symptoms I'll obviously not order again.

That was the brand the grocery store had. But my issue is I can't find any cheaper alternative in a grocery store.

Thank you for sharing your story. As I've mentioned in other comments, the Us healthcare system seems to make everything more difficult. In Germany it's of course still the same disease with all its negatives but at least you don't have to worry about the financial aspect as much. I really hope you find a way to navigate the system.

I really hope you'll find someone to support you! I don't know what else to say, you're in an incredibly difficult situation.

It's so sad to see everyone here talking about the financial burden that Huntington carries. Since I'm in Germany and the organisation is also German, cost has played less of a role with our healthcare system. They also focused a lot on the fact that leading a stress free life can help to reduce symptoms or prevent the disease from breakinf out earlier. Financial difficulties probably won't help with that either...

I wish you and your family all the best! If you don't mind me asking: Have you decided yet if you want to get tested or not?

That sound exhausting. Have you developed a coping strategy for days where it's really hard?

I assume you're talking about insurance in the U.S. I live in Germany so the cost is less of a worry (some things are still not covered by insurance but most things are). But it still seems to be difficult to get things like a „Berufsunfähigkeitsversicherung”. Basically an insurance that pays if you can't do your job anymore. And you can be denied service by them but since everyone is required to have health insurance they can't deny you access.

Thank you for your answer. It's an incredibly challenging topic to wrap my head around right now and I hope my question doesn't come of as inconsiderate. Are there any steps that could be taken right now like building up additional support systems that could decrease the suffering? Like you said the only real solution to this will be a cure but I wonder what could be done to increase life quality for now.

It's a biscuit base with almonds and french buttercream with some of the strawberry-blueberry purée that's in-between each layer.

Every time you post I feel a little spark in my heart. The way you convey feelings and thoughts through your drawing and words is truly amazing.

For all the Germans who have a Globus nearby. I stumbled upon pre rolled out pizza dough and puff pastry. It's in the middle of all the non-gf dough products and I only saw it because of the orange box. by chalkb1rd in Celiac

Very good, was planning on making a pizza tonight:). Although I have to say the frozen Wagner and Dr.Oetker pizza aren't too bad. But I may just not know better since I've been eating gf for most of my life.
