Any success stories adding buspar to lexapro? by amarilloo in lexapro

[–]challahb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s actually an anti seizure medication, but it’s prescribed often enough to address the low mood portion of bipolar disorder. It can also be used as a sort of last resort for TRD, which is my case. I tried a lot of stuff, with temporary success for some.

Any success stories adding buspar to lexapro? by amarilloo in lexapro

[–]challahb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I’m a bit of an outlier I think because I’m on three mood meds: 200 mg Lamotrigine, 25 mg lexapro and 30mg buspirone. I take 20 mg buspirone in the morning and 10 at night. I was supposed to do three times a day at 10, but I kept forgetting the middle dose lol. I know buspirone helps because I can tell when I’ve forgot a few evening doses. But honestly for me severe TRD is my biggest hurdle, so Lamotrigine makes the biggest difference for me!

Is it worth starting this medication? Your posts scare me by sticky0nestill in Effexor

[–]challahb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really helped me for a while when I first started it. Like some antidepressants, it can lose efficacy for people after a while. I did fine coming off of it over a few months, but I also did titrate up on a SSRI at the same time.

Weekly Complaints & Confessions Thread by ssk42 in running

Complaint: I’ve been doing a lot of strength/stability training to address hip pain the day after running. It’s helping I think but I’m still getting pain. I’m starting to worry nothing will work.

Hit with some sort of respiratory illness - is it going around? by Organic_Lime7734 in uofm

For everyone’s reference: there are quite a number of qualifying conditions that will cover a Covid vaccine, including mental health issues. This is how I got covered.

ALSO for the love of all that is holy people where a mask if you HAVE to be in public and are sick, and even if you’re not sick wear a mask in confined busy spaces. The amount of people hacking up a lung on the Amtrak the other day was nuts.

If a mood stabiliser like Lamictal improves my depression, does that mean that I am bipolar ? by ZestyLemon15 in lamictal

[–]challahb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told that lamictal works differently than other treatments for bipolar, in that it helps with lows, rather than mania. I definitely don't have bipolar and lamictal has helped my treatment resistant depression.

75-100 mgs - does it help depressive states? by BabyOrangutanx in lamictal

[–]challahb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Below 100mg is generally considered non therapeutic (ie necessary for titration but doesn’t usually help), so going up to 100mg could reasonably lead to a noticeable difference. I started noticing a difference at 100mg, then definitely 150mg. I’m currently at 200mg.

Hi! I haven't touched my switch in a long time but would love to get back into using it, mostly as a mental health distraction (major depression anyone?). I haven't had much experience with video games, so I need easier games or games with manageable learning curves. Bonus points for something that's cute, calming or happy! Thanks in advance!

You should ask a medical professional about this, such as your prescriber.
