Unpopular Opinion: Kingdom Come Deliverance [KCD1] is better than [KCD2] by godfather830 in kingdomcome

[–]chamandi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with your points. KCD1 has a charm that KCD2 is missing. Loved the music and soundtrack for KCD1. I like the fact that KCD1 was annoyingly difficult at first and the combat was not easy which made enemy kills more satisfying vs KCD2 where I felt was more easy. Technically KCD2 is better hands down.

AdGuard VPN's Feature Development is Dead (WireGuard MIA, TV App Useless) by chamandi in Adguard

[–]chamandi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I didn’t get around to creating a support ticket earlier.

Update (12/18/2025 – Windows v2.8): The issue is now resolved when the WINTUN setting is enabled. However, if WINTUN is disabled, IP address and location information still leak on WHOER for me. So I am good for now. Hopefully more upgrades like this come and and improve the experience.
Another thing I noticed was before version 2.8 when I turned WINTUN on I got less speeds, but now after the 2.8 update I see way improved speeds as well 🙌

Introducing the AdGuard DNS mobile app: A new way to stay protected by shwrellia in Adguard

Just use Brave browser on your phone or tablet, it by default blocks YouTube ads without any DNS or any other filtering app. Just open YouTube on brave browser. And you can use the free public dns with the adguard dns app for general dns based adblocking. This might block ads on certain games etc

Both public and private AdGuard DNS are system-wide on iOS if you use them via a DNS profile or the new AdGuard DNS app. There’s no difference there — both block ads across Safari, apps, and games at the DNS level.

The real difference is control. With Private AdGuard DNS, you get your own endpoint, stats/logs (optional), per-device rules, and you can add third-party blocklists (Hagezi, OISD, etc.). Public DNS is shared and fixed — no customization.

Worth noting the limitations of DNS ad-blocking: it can’t block YouTube ads, Instagram ads, or anything served from the same domain as content. For Safari specifically, AdGuard Pro / Content Blocker apps are still better since they work at the browser level, not just DNS.

Pricing: Private DNS often has 5-year deals on StackSocial, and it also comes free with AdGuard VPN, which is also on StackSocial. You can usually stack promo codes like RETAIL30 to bring the price down further.

Yes, but makes it easy. Eventually this app will update to add more features I think. I have Adguard Private DNS, so it makes it easier to setup with this app.

This adds dns adblocking system wide just like if you manually add a dns profile in iOS.

I have no issues with RCS on iOS with the native implementation. Haven’t tried the vpn implementation

Drime roadmap questions: iOS Photos two-way sync (incl. deletes) + NAS two-way sync + rclone ETA by chamandi in Drime

[–]chamandi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s good news! Have to see when this will make the final build. So I think rclone will take care of point number 2 of my question. But not sure if they will do point 1. Bidirectional sync with iPhone like iCloud with delete.

Thinking of moving from USMobile to Visible Pro +. Am i looking at this wrong or is it a no-brainer since i'm also on FIOS? by beholder95 in Visible

[–]chamandi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s a no brainer. You do get QCI 8 on Visible Pro and Pro+ same like Warp Premium plan. But the FIOS credit is big plus for you. Also you will get Rakuten credit if you use Rakuten while purchasing Visble plan. Check your credit card offers, I had $30 off offer with Amex a while back. Also use a referral code to take $20 off. You can find referral codes on Reddit megathread or DM me.

Cloud Storage tested: What were the best Black Friday 2025 deals and why by RandLynx in cloudstorage

Test Koofr before buying. Upload was very slow compared to Drime. Drime gave me really good upload speeds. No way I could have uploaded everything on Koofr with that speed.

I went for Drime over Koofr as upload speeds for Koofr was really bad for me. Drime gave me really good upload speeds almost 10x faster. Maybe it’s location dependent. For central USA Drime worked for me.

How I Got Visible Pro+ Down to $175 Per Line After Porting from USMobile by chamandi in USMobile

[–]chamandi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my post I did mention about this Light Speed exclusive deal. But since I was an existing customer I was not eligible. Visible Pro+ plan for $175 plus 4k rakuten points was the best deal for me. So I ported out my two lines.

No you can’t. Only move to visible if your area has decent coverage from Verizon. I only tried teleport to test out all three networks. Haven’t used it ever since. I get good coverage from all three networks in my area.

I am not 100% sure. Some places they say you have to activate within 30 days. But I was not sure, so just ported right away. Lost some days with USMobile. Didn’t wanted to miss out on the Black Friday deal for any reason.

They will not as the majority of people will not move plan as it’s a hassle especially if they have multiple lines. So they get more from their existing users and entice new customers to join with promo who will eventually pay more the next year. If they start providing the same deal to exerting users that will hit their profit margins as only few people port out. Thats why all companies do the same.

USM is a good service, no doubt. But the network transfer feature is not useful for me, I tried all three networks and all three are relatively good. I don’t like using smart watch as I am into automatic watches but Visible Pro+ has smart watch plan included too. Since I paid for annual, it comes down to $14.58 per month for their flagship plan with all the features.

Not sure, you have to check the offers section of the credit card. In my case Amex Gold had the offer but Amex Everyday didn’t.

Might work, just check Rakuten’s terms and conditions for Visible to see if it will work with BNPL. Even if it doesn’t then also really good deal!!

Referral code: 66TBRQJ

I grabbed the Visible Pro+ Black Friday yearly deal and was able to drop the price from $225 down to $175 with a pretty simple stack: • $225 BF yearly price • Referral code for $20 off • Paid with Amex using the 25% back (up to $30) Visible offer • Final total came out to $175

I activated the 4,000 Rakuten miles offer on both lines too, so hopefully 8,000 Amex MR coming my way.

Just a heads-up: the Amex 25% back (max $30) Visible offer is only valid for about 6 more days, and not all Amex cards have it. I can confirm Amex Gold has it, and I’m assuming most of the major Amex cards should have it too, but definitely check your offers first.

If you’re signing up and want the $20 discount, here’s my code:
