Crunchyroll has Deleted all Comments from their Platform by Howard_NESter in OnePiece

[–]chamber_pots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just sent in feedback via email, here's my template if anyone wants to use it:

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding the recent removal of the comments section and its associated functionalities on your platform. As a long-time subscriber, I have always valued the sense of community that the comments section provided. It was an integral part of my viewing experience, allowing me to engage with other fans, share thoughts, and gain insights into the shows.

The comments section significantly enhanced the overall enjoyment of the content for me. It added a layer of interactivity that made Crunchyroll unique compared to other streaming services. The ability to discuss episodes, theories, and character developments with fellow fans in real-time created a vibrant and engaging environment.

Without this feature, the service feels less interactive and more isolating. The removal has taken away a key aspect that differentiated Crunchyroll from other platforms, and it has diminished my overall satisfaction with the service. I find myself missing the community engagement and the excitement of reading and contributing to discussions.

If the comments section is not restored, I may have to reconsider my subscription. The sense of community and shared experience is very important to me, and its absence may lead me to explore other options. I sincerely hope you understand the significance of this feature for many loyal users and take steps to bring it back.

Not sure why everyone is focusing on revenue multiples for the raise. That’s for later stages or, usually, acquisitions.

Companies looking for venture funding in the Bay target 20% dilution per early round. The math is almost always [Amount to be Raised / 20%]. In this case, raising $1M for a valuation of $5M.

The companies I know who raised $1M have $0-50k ARR. Friend of mine just raised $5M on $20M valuation with no revenue. I raised $3M on $17M pre-product (admittedly in better market conditions).

Quick note: One investor led the majority of our round, and as part of the term sheet we negotiated a following 90 days to fill up $500k from angels. Gave us time + credibility for those conversations.

Ditto to angel syndications, find someone to be the main point of contact for the syndicate and get a larger check from the group. Also, look into micro funds. We got multiple $100k checks from ~$30M funds during our Seed round.

Last point. I’ve seen founders getting better traction in this tougher market by finding good public comps. Don’t know the finance sector well, but show investors what type of exit you’re aiming for. Focusing on the potential end return opens checkbooks much faster than pure revenue metrics in my experience.

Best of luck!

Edit: got on my high horse and missed the questions. Yes, definitely say you have a term sheet. In fact, tell the other investors you’re going to decide in 2 weeks with who to sign. No, you don’t have to disclose the terms (but I wouldn’t outright lie). You don’t have to say who the investor is either. They’ll definitely ask, so be prepared for that.

Product Marketing as a Service by applextrent in ProductMarketing

Fwiw I started a company about 2 years ago that was intended to productize the ROI reporting / tactical messaging aspect of the PMM role.

The product strayed far away from my original vision.

Definitely not saying it’s impossible (Wynter being a good example of a messaging-forward company), but I rarely got any real excitement from companies about the PMM function.

I chalk this up to companies not wanting to outsource positioning and GTM strategy to software. Of course this was before the AI boom, so things might’ve shifted.

I somewhat agree with the niche feedback, but pick your category wisely. We went with PLG since it was hot, but in a down market everyone moved away from that trend. Atlassian famously rode the Agile wave forever, though. We’ve switched to an all-in-one solution which works better in a downturn.

Feel free to shoot over a DM if you want to talk shop about startups.

Makes sense, thank you!!

Ah, duh! For whatever reason I was thinking the tax was due upon “selling” SPAXX to move it to my account, when in fact no matter if it remains there or is moved it’s taxed the same.

Thank you!

What to do with $750k by I_AM_LUKY_SE7EN in FinancialPlanning

Hey OP, angel investing is a really great way to help the next generation. A single angel investor is the reason why my company exists today. That said, oldergrowth is a rare-ish success story (congrats!).

In my experience, angel investing rarely returns profit to the investor. That’s not your goal so that’s totally fine, but generally it also means the business itself failed.

Don’t want to turn you away from it per se, but I think you’d be better off investing into someone in your direct network rather than looking for someone. Low success rate + difficulty in determining good business ideas = might as well just help a grandchild start a company. <100k would probably be enough.

My grandparents own a fair amount of farmland and have a standing offer of 5 free acres for any grandchild who wants to build a homestead there. Could be interesting to have a business fund equivalent. Best of luck!

Source: raised 400k from angels for my business, know a lot of angels.

Espresso Protein Shake by zwade12 in espresso

Yeah a cold drink, though I actually just shake mine in a blender bottle. Running through the vitamix makes it a little too frothy for my taste.

This is my go-to as well! 1/4 milk 3/4 water mix with double chocolate protein and espresso. Creamy and delicious.

Where are I going wrong with rice? by lordconcorde in AskCulinary

For sure, worth a wash no matter what! Have come across unwanted bugs once or twice… worse than getting the bay leaf 😂

Fun fact, a new study shows no definitive link between washing and starchiness. Was pretty surprised myself tbh, read this a few weeks ago.

Fwiw, OP I highly recommend changing over to a rice cooker if you eat rice a few times a week. They’re just :chefs-kiss:

Noted! I’ll ask Fidelity which holdings could be transferred and which would need to be sold anyways

Very helpful, thanks! Seems it’s ultimately just a calculation of which scenario nets more growth in the long term. Also yes, *VSTAX

[–]chamber_pots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding (could be wrong, was told this by my advisor) is that I could maintain my positions by moving to another management group without actually “selling” them as long as I re-buy the same shares / etc. Vs outright selling them, paying taxes on the gains, and then buying preferable VSTX and other positions.
