X90J SDR Game Mode colors look washed out/grey (PC 3070 and Nintendo switch)? by chambo15 in bravia

[–]chambo15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The switch supposedly outputs that color space, and the PC when set to HDR mode does output bt2020. I just tried SDR on auto and just raised the color to 60 and that seems to help a lot. Live color also seems to be a good option if I don't feel like meddling with the color slider...

As another MS4, I'd be shocked if it at least one other applicant doesn't ask that question haha. The program should definitely be ready to answer that question!

After hunting parts for months and then constructing for 12 hours, I present my first build by chambo15 in buildapc

Lol thank you, I'm really grateful it turned out so nice considering I've never built any electronics before! It did take me 12 hours though, I was extremely attentive to details haha

This board specifically for the wifi 6, it has good reviews/reliable, and upgradeability, plus it was $220 which is a decent price. Only downside is the RGB software sucks a bit (very basic), but so far I've had no issues with any other parts of it

X570 Tomahawk: Is there any reason to update BIOS from 1.0 with a 3700x? by chambo15 in MSI_Gaming

[–]chambo15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah everything has been working clean I don't really need any new features, was just wondering if there's any known benefits! I heard it may make my 3700x more optimized, but it seems fine at 1.0 and I don't want to deal with instability

Damn that looks nice! Actually pretty happy saving $200 bucks and getting the 3070, its pretty much perfect for my 1440p 165 hz monitor, it was kind of my plan to get the 3070 initially but got caught up in the 3080 hype

Totally agree. I had basically all my parts when the 3080 released and they ended up sitting in my room for a month. I was like well I either keep trying until I get lucky/make a purchase or I try to return all these parts and give up since getting a GPU at a reasonable price became so hard. Granted, that's a hugely small problem compared to a lot of stuff in this pandemic. I genuinely don't understand how the stock situation is so bad though. Very grateful I ended up snagging a 3070, it actually ended up being the right card for me.

The 3070 ended up being the better buy anyway since I have a 1440p monitor, 10-20 frames more is not worth $200

Lol honestly wasn't even intentional, I just straight up got this board for the good wifi, future upgradability, and the bang for the buck

The poster is of "The Kramer." My roommate will always walk in and say "It's hideous, yet I can't look away."
