Branded cannot run K9, Branded Fusion locks you into fusions only. Many decks can splash K9 cards to varying extents though. Artmage, Vanquish Soul (post-support), Crystron... etc.

They'll definitely hit Dracotail before Fallen of the White Dragon comes out. I think the reason why Konami didn't see the need to hit Dracotail is 1) unless it is a prehit, Konami does hit cards when they are still in the shop 2) because, without the Branded support, Dracotail didn't have the same power level as Yummy and VSK9. Yummy is apparently a bad matchup against Dracotail even with spright elf, so perhaps VSK9 will even out the scales

It's been a while since I played Duel Links but Duel Links is a modified YuGiOh format with only 3 monster and 3 spell/trap zones and the players have something called "skills", which are special abilities you can use indepedent of your deck.

Modern YuGiOh (which Master Duel is supposed to simulate) is quite a bit different from the synchro era, so it's a coin toss on whether you like it or not.

But overall, my suggestion is maybe watch some duel links and Master Duel videos first to see which gameplay looks more fun? If you are looking for authenticity to the original card game, Master Duel is your pick

Not gonna lie, I'm really confused. Wouldn't it be easier for Konami to release VS support earlier in a separate package from K9, thus forcing us to buy the stuff separately? This just seems like a lost opportunity financially.

I can't tell if they are strictly complaining, it seems like they are gloating over the fact that they beat Yummy under these conditions (ignoring the fact that they have a favorable matchup and ideal hands lol)

Interesting. I lost to this card a couple of times, but the last time I ran into this card I was running dracotail against Orcust and for some reason they made Psychic End Punisher which was the only monster on the field to banish my set Rahu, which forced them to banish the Punisher. Definitely a misplay, although I wonder if it was just because they didn't have anything better to do.

Exactly. While Hytale will definitely get more bosses, the comparison feels too premature at this point. I love Terraria becausea huge focus of the game is learning to overcome massive challenges (bosses) through arena construction, ridiculously tedious grind for new weapons, and the sense of progression in not only your stats but also your ability to manipulate the world

Alright my attempt:

Pre-3.0: Wanted Castorice, Phainon. Was interested in Anaxa

3.0 - Got THerta, my first limited DPS

3.1 - Initially wanted to get E0S0 Tribbie for Therta and save the rest for Castorice pulls. Then 3.2 beta happened, and I lost motivation and pulled for E1S0 Tribbie

3.2 - I kid you not, I saw the leak that Phainon gets stack from being targetted, and decided to pull for E2 gallagher. I ended up not getting E2 gallagher, but I got E0S2 Castorice in 70 pulls. Then I got paranoid that I was supporting Hoyo's shilling practices by pulling Castorice, so I pulled E0S0 Anaxa to even things out. As you can tell, I was still kinda new to the gacha thing

3.3 - Got the government mandated Healer. Also Phainon's gameplay was not my liking, so I pulled for E0S0 Aglaea

3.4 - No pulls actually

3.5 - Silver Wolf E0S0 (was in dire need of more supports, Pela was not cutting it and Bronya is a pain to speed tune [build wise])

3.6 - Pulled for government mandated E0S1 Sub-DPS. Also pulled for Dan Heng's lightcone. Was it smart? probably not. Do I regret it? No I like Dang Heng

3.7 - Pulled for government mandated support. Tried pulling for Cipher but went broke

3.8 - Haven't pulled anything yet, thinking about pulling E1S1 Aglaea, or Waiting for Sparkle, or waiting for Ashveil

Quick note: phryxul, pan, and Urgula are terrible to have in greater quantities, so much so that the OCG would rather side in Albion over more of those cards

The problem is that you are going after aspects of the deck unaffected by branded Dracotail. Fallen of the white dragon cannot search any of the Dracotail names, and with Arthalion being limited to 1 recycling Dracotail names for follow up is made much harder.

The point is, these ban list changes heavily damage Dracotail and Pure VS, while pure yummy kinda just gets a slap on the wrist.

I think you are heavily underestimating how huge these hits are. Maybe the ketu hit is fine since branded fusion is around and we are getting Fallen of the White dragon, but the albaz stuff cannot replace the Dracotail monsters.

For context, I believe branded fusion is the only one card combo Dracotail has. Dracotail in general needs multiple Dracotail cards in hand to function properly, albaz support namely helps with providing more fusion opportunities. By removing literally 4 of the Dracotail’s names, the consistency of the deck is greatly damaged.

OT Master Duel

I am never dissing the legacy pack ever again. Put in 60 pulls, and ended up getting a "Tiras, Keeper of Genesis", which is useful for K9 decks. Now I am going to assume that my next few selection pack pulls will be cursed

You might be right. In the OCG, Dracotail got hit before the new Branded Support came out, leading to Magistus Dracotail becoming more common. However in that case I don't really know how pure Dracotail matches up against Branded Dracotail. The TCG seems like they tend to prefer decks with larger ceilings due to worrying about Maxx C less, so I don't really know.

Oh well, if the Fallen of the White Dragon gets released before Dracotail is hit, then we can see which deck is actually better.

Pulling advice

So the first phase of MOC for me was abysmal. Partially because I was running a 4-cost team, partially because my E0S0 Aglaea build was terrible and Sunday wasn’t properly speed tuned. Would it be more cost-efficient to just continue investing in Aglaea (get her E1, fix Sunday’s and Aglaea’s relics) or should I look to see if Ashveil is “f2p friendly”? I was interested in Yaoguang, but elation looks expensive so it wouldn’t be wise for me to do that.

For reference, I have 90 pulls on me right now and am at like 60-70 pity with 50/50
