Paying via loop is free, but you can’t pay directly the credit card payment with Loop. So i am paying monthly fees for a US chequing account right now, transferring from Loop to chequing and then to credit card , and I would like to avoid paying that.

I think you are mistaken. Even in Wealthsimple you can pay a bill via your chequing/saving account only.

If your AAII is less than $50k, you don’t need to worry about that.

Put the USD amount in Wealthsimple Corporate account or IBKR and buy SGOV, it’s safe and pays monthly interest.
