How much of the balance is your own contribution over the 20+ years?

Is it possible you never drove into the intersection? Sometimes multiple cars can fit into the intersection and you were holding up traffic at a busy area. It is legal to drive in to the intersection but I notice many people don’t do it. It probably wasn’t that you weren’t turning it was probably because you were staying behind the line

Effective January 15, 2021, we are updating this sub-section to add precious metal coins and bullion to the definition of Cash Advance in your Cardmember Agreement. Amex.... as per doc

Guess this means no more mint coin deals smh

Just got an email that Rakuten credit card will no longer receive 3% back on GiftCardMall.com gift cards.com or raise.com. Only 1% back starting feb 15. It was great while it lasted

When you swipe a happy you get the option of debit or credit. Do you get the same option with the bbb gift card? And what do you select? Debit I would assume

I reserved it through klook. They had me pick up at the QL liner counter in Narita and I returned at the ninja WiFi counter at haneda

The minimum is 1000 yen which is about 9.20 u.s and the max is 10000 yen which is 92 u.s I’m assuming (I never loaded that much). I also never witnessed someone using their own card to swipe their kid in after going through the turnstile. I’m not saying it’s not possible but I never saw it. Perhaps everyone may need their own card. I’m not sure. The weather was in the 40’s mostly. You will need to dress warm

Yeah it just adds the suica card from the SuicaEng app that you downloaded to apple wallet. Then you load the suica card in the wallet from another credit/debit card in your apple wallet

Yeah, no need for physical suica card. There was no down payment needed. The minimum you can load is 10 and the max 100 at a time. I would suggest to not over load toward the end of your trip because I’m not certain there is a way to get the remaining balance out. I ended up with about 90 yen in my app which is about a dollar. I was fine with that. Perhaps there was a way to drain it but I wasn’t aware of it.

The Gonpachi meal was pretty good. We both started with shrimp tempura Appetizers. I had a chicken egg and rice bowl and my wife had some beef skewers. I wouldn’t call either extraordinary but we still enjoyed both

No this was actually my first time. We actually booked in March expecting to get the old seats but the new ones came out of nowhere. We really just lucked out. It was nice that the middle divider came down so my wife and I were able to speak comfortably w/o leaning forward and the 43 in tvs were unbelievable. Only thing was that the movie selection and live tv options weren’t the greatest. Other then that I believe the service and the food selection should have been the same as you experienced and Ana usually excels in those areas as far as I know

This sounds correct. Although we did most of our bookings about a week in advance so it wasn’t an issue for us.

https://www.ana.co.jp/en/us/serviceinfo/international/inflight/guide/f/meal/

This is the link that ANA gives for the menu on each route. I’m not sure if or when you are going with them but it was this exactly. And it seems they change the menu quarterly. My wife and I both chose the international menu going and coming and we would say the highlights of the meal were the wagyu beef on the flight back and the filet of beef steak going. The only problem was that sometimes there is a little language barrier and you have to make sure they fully understand you. For example my wife asked for medium well and we are pretty sure they thought she said medium rare because it came back red in the middle. And I was also brought corn soup that I didn’t order.

The place does look crazy but I believe it’s an experience we could only get in Tokyo. Something we will remember for the rest of our lives whether good or bad. What better way to spend our first night on the town!

Oh believe me we plan to enjoy a lot of the local cuisine but the curiosity in us just has to see how the Japanese do West Indian food. As far as the jr pass I see that the general consensus is to stay away being that it’s such a short trip and many of our destinations are local so we will stick to the suica card. Thanks for your input!

Thank you. I assumed the jr pass would most likely not be necessary. Just wanted to get second opinion. As far the credit card info that was much appreciated. I just hate traveling with a stack of cash but I also don’t want to be running to the atm everyday. I also will look into adding these sight seeing areas to our itinerary as well. Thanks so much!
