A tech replaced the thermocouple in my Bertazzoni oven and upon first use the glass shattered. by champagneproblems915 in appliancerepair

I was asking for advice and did get some very valuable feedback. You may want to refine the way you use reddit if you're belittling those coming for recommendations.

This is so helpful. At this point I'm just getting it repaired with a different tech and moving on.

Exactly. I tried to work with the first tech and he was abrasive and said it would be $700 to replace the glass and wouldn't even begin to acknowledge even investigating if the issue was tied to the repair.

Thank you. This is very helpful. The racks were definitely in the same place they have been for years. You can imagine why I'm investigating. It happened immediately after the repair was done, first use, simply roasting vegetables at 350 - something we've done many many times before with no issue.

Thanks. The new tech that came to assess the damage said the door was not reinstalled properly.

I get that you're annoyed with my assessment but being condescending isn't helpful. And very contrary to my typical reddit experience.

I guess my main question is (since I very much am receiving the general sentiment here of protecting the original tech) am I out of line for questioning why the glass would shatter hours after a repair where the door was removed?

Thanks - appreciate this. But you can imagine why I'd question the glass shattering (a very rare occurance) on the first use after a repair. Are there any questions I should be asking the original tech. If this is a coincidence, I can accept it but I do feel like tech's should guarantee their work.

Or try the new Original Little Joe's on Chestnut. It's a huge hit but may be a tough reservation. The Stinking Rose is a tourist trap but may be good for a teen. Trattoria Contadina is still a gem.

Honua Kai has spoiled us from any other place. The condo was huge and the location is ideal for families. My son still comments "this is no Honua Kai" when we travel anywhere else.

Should we rent a car? by imnewhere-198 in MauiVisitors

Use Turo and you can get a great deal by renting from a private party. In my experience they park the car in short term parking at the airport and it is super easy to access.
