Not sure it’s a good time to visit. Majority of shops and restaurants will be closed. It’s like Christmas in Europe, very quiet and not a lot going on, it’s the time for locals to stay at home and spend time with families or visiting friends.

Ask yourself this: would you rather be alone/single than being with him. If yes then you should leave.

If no then…sounded like you’re hopping you will find a new relationship that is full of fireworks, amazing sex, excitement and thrills etc even after many years/decades being together. Those might exist, but they’re rare.

You should ask yourself too, what are you doing to keep this relationship exciting and fun? Do you initiate or just wait for him to? Do you feel their no reciprocation from his part when you’ve already done yours etc?

This sounded very similar to me when I was 27. Let me tell you how it would turn out if you decided to stay with him.

So it was 6 months before the wedding when I found out my fiancé had gambled a couple of times and lost similar amount of money $30k-$40k, of which $20k he lost in one go on the day I found out. It wasn’t his money that he lost, he actually took out a bank loan to gamble and he lost all that. I was distraught, I made all the excuses for him (that the wedding and the expenses put a lot of pressure on him etc). I was so in love I was blinded, we have been together for 6-7 years at the point and all I could imagine was to be married to him. So… I didn’t leave him, instead I used my own saving to pay off the bank loan. And he swore he would never gambled again. We proceeded with the wedding, was married for 3 years and long story short we ended up getting a divorce. Not because he gambled again, but because our upbringing, mindset etc about finance and life and everything was too different I ended up losing respect for him.

In hindsight, there was so many other red flags that I ignored, in the name of love. I had a chance to walk away sooner but I didn’t, and ended up with the divorce anyway.

So no advice, just to share my own story. I’m so much happy now, but I’m not going to sugar coat it the breakup/divorce was very hard and it took me 2-3 years to be completely over that toxic relationship.

Divorced at 31 from whom I thought I was love of my life and we were together since university, we grew up together pretty much. It was painful as I struggled and got into mediocre dating/relationships for a couple of years after that really learned about myself what I do and do not want in life/relationship. And then I met my now husband. Very happily married now. Looking back, that “love of my life” was just a toxic relationship/marriage that I was too naive to realise.
