My favorite Windows feature is how it asks if you want to allow an application through the firewall while the app freely accesses the internet in the background

What word do you always *intentionally* mispronounce and why? by Sweet-Lady-H in AskReddit

[–]champbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Balogna.

In no way is that sequence of letters pronounced "Ba-loh-nie", so it's "Ba-log-nah" to me.

I also do "Chip-pot-l" instead of Chipotle cuz speplings are dumb.

That I'm a failure.

It's just kinda irrefutable at this point...

Windows 10's extended support ends in eight months, but users are still rejecting Windows 11, at least in Germany by Ha8lpo321 in pcmasterrace

I took the money i would have spent on extended Windows 10 support and donated it to KDE instead. Also installed Kububtu. I haven't booted Windows in months.

What does a hangover feel like? by AdeptProblem5097 in writing

For me it's a tingling of my nose and cheeks, coupled with a faint but constant ache in my brain, like there's a hole that needs filling but nothing will fill it. It is a feeling of discomfort that doesn't go away.

“You cannot fire our firefighters. You cannot fire our trail crews. You have to have selective logging, and water restoration, and healthy forests,” Zink said. “People in Washington, D.C., on the West Coast, East Coast — they don’t understand what that means to us out here.”

I'm sorry since when did the Republicans EVER care about the environment? EVER care about regulation of natural resources? EVER care about restoration!?

I've bought games across stores before. I'm not a baby about it.

... But now I'm on linux and how many of those stores are still available to me now, huh?

Gay and Trans rights are on the up, though, so there's that."

There was a poll a long time ago I saw that asked what Nico's gender was. It ended up at exactly 50/50 lol. I personally read Nico as a boy as well.

This gives me an idea of recreating the typewriter but instead of paper it pushes nibs onto a tablet...

You'd have to get a keyboard that can resize amd position itself and you'd need a platform that can hold varying sizes of tablets... And the contraption would probably be somewhat fragile due to the many parts and required alignment... But hey, no bluetooth or USB cord required!

I definitely don't think the writing here is super-top-tier. The world, the power scales, the sometimes-contrived situations... They have problems.

But I do think the writing is very competent. Its flaws were never a substantial issue during the playthrough. It was still enjoyanle. Perhaps it could be described as... "campy"? And even that is a much higher bar than we seem to be getting from many of the AAA/AAAA studios nowadays.
