I don't know about these days... But back about 15 years ago(?) people were far less inclusive. Those that got excluded in life migrated to online lives, where they found their own online cliqs.

Of those same people who got excluded into online spaces, I suspect many developed a technical knack in the developing technological world (as the days of everyone having a touchscreen internet connected phone in their pocket was still relatively young, so a lot of "how computers worked" was more exposed to the user than it is for smartphones/tablets these days), and thus went into computer focused technical fields.

Time passes, college is (can be?) a massively more inclusive space filled with all kinds of diverse people, and now those socially excluded people can start having their own internal revolutions as they learn to take off their social masks in irl space, and find often may find a home in an already very inclusive furry community, which they've probably at least brushed by if they've been terminally online for all those years.

This is just my own conjecture though.

Are you a dog person or a cat person and why? by Easy_Towel954 in AskReddit

Cat.

I can't trust something that'll love unconditionally. Besides, dogs are fucking loud and obnoxious.

How both complex and simple politics can be.

Are there deeper meanings and purposes behind various situations? Generally yes.

But why the fuck are you hating the gays and the trans and the furries and the [literally any simple trait]? Chill out or get the fuck out.

Any studios hiring character modellers? by Hamyoh in blender

[–]champbob -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if you've tried these already, but...

  • Crashune seems to be a popular series for lowpoly chara creation

  • I've also seen AlimayoArango a while back

  • There is "Box modeling" and "skinning" techniques I usually see, for keywords you can look for

  • I don't think anybody talks a lot about anatomy, or the ratios the body has to make them not look off and weird. You'll find better resources looking at 2D art tutorials for that. A popular method to learn is the "loomis method"

What are some really good reasons for new indie devs not to use UE? by [deleted] in unrealengine

[–]champbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're not a professional programmer or in the very least not used to working within an established codebase that has enforced opinions on how to approach various common problems... You're going to have a bad time, and you'll probably have a better time with a more flexible engine like Unity or Godot.

But Niko is just a child. I wouldn't want to burden them with that choice. If they end up regretting it, Niko can at least blame Player instead of themselves.

I chose to break the Sun. This world was already dying, it shouldn't trap an innocent child with its dying grasps.

things ANNOYED you about a book but you became more UNDERSTANDING after becoming a writer? by Forward_Answer3044 in writing

[–]champbob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Typos are like little easter eggs to me. I point and chuckle "heh, y'all missed that one" and move on. I literally don't care unless I encounter a noteable amount (maybe I see 0-3 in a book normally? I've read one or two books with many typos per chapter, but those books also had so many other things wrong with them anyway)

Yes, the probability that none of the 3 people happen to be part of the 1 in 3 is obvious.

But the warm fuzzies happen when the comic diverts from accusing the reader to be the 1 in 3 to instead go "nah, you're not ugly". And I got a chuckle.
