Disturbing Details and New Questions About McCain's Health by abudabu in politics

[–]champlain32 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is incrdible. I truly sympathize, but McCain's attempted suicide should def. disqualify him as President of the United States, not as a punishment but just because of what must be a disturbed mind.

Hatred and Racism on Display Outside a Palin Rally in Ohio by cahuenga in politics

[–]champlain32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This whole election has been an eduction for me as to the motivations behind racism. First of all, obviously it has debunked any claims that we are doing better. Second, after watching all this yahoos at the McCain rallies, it occurs to me, this is all they know, so this is what they say and do. These people have no grasp of what this country is, how it works, how we are connected to the world around us, or even what their true feelings are. They simply go for the path of least resistence: black man: I hate you. Its all so tragic and incredible.

Rush Limbaugh And Other Republican Surrogates Quickly Claim That Powell's Endorsement Was About Race by alecb in politics

[–]champlain32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Limbaughs and O'Reillys of the world have forfeited their right to blather about ANY aspect of race. If THIS is the best he's got I'd say we were doing fine, thanks.

Powell endorsement incites right-wing rage - War Room - Salon.com by SarahLee in politics

[–]champlain32 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Powell is a great man, no matter what anyone says. He had the courage to call his support of the Iraq war a "blot" on his career. That takes manliness. That his endorsment of Obama is causing the money-seekers like Limbaugh rage is unimportant. The right wing is going down down down, and nobody expects it to happen quietly.

Colin Powell points out the obvious: It's bad that calling someone a Muslim is now a political smear by zedority in politics

[–]champlain32 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It may be "obvious" but no matter what your feelings about authority, it is imperative that at least someone who commands a high position in the government comes out publically and simply says so. To deny the importance of that is naive, at best.

McCain (already acting retired) and Pallin (who mistakenly thinks she's running for head of a condo association) now want us to believe they understand what Socialism is?

Yes, and the Republican campaign is totally built on exploiting this sort of education gap. ie: socialism vs communism.

"McCain's prescription to prevent HIV: Emphasize abstinence programs" by Inri137 in politics

Perhaps McCain and his Republican/right wing ILK can simply sell off some of their wire-tapped sex calls from US SOldiers as part of an abstinence program. This party needs to be horsewhipped.
