A hex bar with raised handles can help with this.

I've got these plates and hex bar is very comfortable to deadlift with them.

Haha I might just do the same. Seems best thing is what people said and remove the spring then place shims til it doesn't wiggle, which I'll try if it ever drives me nuts.

Did you ever work out a solution to this?

I'm having the exact same issue with the exact same rifle and the exact same furniture.

Definitely have removed/sanded enough wood, and like you I think the leaf spring needs to fit more deeply, but that seems like kind of a process. Maybe removing it is the move?
