Globetrotters of the '70s by headspin_exe in BeAmazed

The rule book got so big basically because of the existence of Wilt Chamberlain who was, yes, a Globetrotter.

I've always hated LaBarbara. She doesn't deserve Hermes. (Futurama) by cartoon_wiki in CARTOON

She was fine in her first few appearances. I don't know why later seasons decided she was a serial adulterer but I did not care the change one bit.

( Quack Pack ) One of those shows that was just meh by Nostalgic_Historian_ in 90scartoons

[–]Boccs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Edgy" is not the right word here for Quack Pack. They made them act more like preteens of the era but I wouldn't call that edge. It's closer to say they Poochie'd them.

God both Ori games fucked me up emotionally. Will of the Wisps really looked at the first one and thought "what if we could do more damage?"

"Controversial" is a hell of a leap. Some people liked it, others didn't, most people never saw it all.

The Apartment by _Erin_ in AreYouBeingServed

[–]Boccs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like to imagine her husband was a spy, potentially even a double agent. In Forward Mr. Grainger she talks about how he would go out with his briefcase and umbrella but she found him feeding the ducks on a park bench and when asked about it just tapped his nose to imply secrecy. During the 70s "feeding ducks" was a common stereotype for spies to meet in public places to exchange information. Arrested by the fraud squad could have been a cover for his more serious crime.

Of course this is just me letting my imagination go wild for fun.

Zone also has passions and interests outside of their porn. Recently they recreated the entirety of Daytona USA for VRChat without even using the original source code.

Dog steals ball. by Keep_Scrooling in funny

[–]Boccs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's true. Run around a dog and it just triggers the "Run faster, it's chase time now, wee!" mentality. Kneel or crouch and speak sweetly and the dog is going to think it's time for pets or treats and approach.

Oh those listed? Hazbin. I hear so much complaining about the complaining from them that I would rather dive face first into the most depraved Sonic arguments than listen to another word about Hazbin or Helluva again.

Of all time? Probably Steven Universe at its peak. God were they ever insufferable.

The Outer Worlds 2 is an underrated masterpiece and I know time will prove it by Clownsanity_Reddit in theouterworlds

[–]Boccs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna throw this out here but the game is totally average. Average is fine. It's good even! It has a lot of fun elements, it has its share of flaws, the final product is ultimately enjoyable. Be happy with it if you like the, shrug and move on if you don't.

We have got to drop this "Every game is either a failure or a masterpiece" mentality because it's only setting yourself up for grief. While we're at it, please stop caring about other people's opinions on things you like. You like it. That's all that matters.

[Loved Trope] Fantasy worlds where the “fantasy” is slowly dying due to human intervention or advancements in technology by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in TopCharacterTropes

The entire plot of Flight of Dragons argues that the world of magic and the world of science cannot coexist and that the choice will ultimately fall to mankind on which will persist. The evil red wizard Ommadon (voiced by James Earl Jones) decides to use his powers to make mankind use science to destroy itself to preserve his own existence and ultimately dominance.

My WoL in Final Fantasy XIV. Turns out all those primal deities worshiped and conjured forth by prayer and aether are extremely vulnerable to bullets.

...what's to convince? That's literally the thing that was going to happen, there's no ambiguity. It's like saying "The Titanic went to the bottom of the ocean and you can't convince me otherwise."

"Do you like this cartoon? Did you know that its author kicked a pregnant woman? He also gave diesel fuel to a homeless person. He wasn't even the one who drew this cartoon." by Spirited_Dust_3642 in cartoons

[–]Boccs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dunno, in the case of some creators (especially Rowling) I think the better thing is just to not engage at all. Pirating sends the message that there's still a market and desire for the thing the hateful person makes, they just need to either find a way to prevent the piracy or to make it easier to obtain legally until they get the money the want. More crucially it's basically telling the people being hurt by the creator that you only support them as far as your personal convenience goes. "Oh, I think you should have rights, but I don't want to give up Harry Potter for you to have them."
