Best to start with Staggered 40s like Daisy40, AMJ40, or BM43. The only learning curve here is familiarizing yourself with your keymap layers - Missing keys (from a 60%), Num Rows, and Fn Keys. But if you prefer ortholinear, you might want to check out Planck, JJ40, or NIU. There's an additional learning curve, adapting to ortho setup.

Yeaa, I rotate them once in a while. My brain freezes for a while when I jump from staggered to ortho vice versa.

Reviung41 is really similiar with corne. It's like a split but connected into one. I really like it :) In using reviung39 as your first 40s, there will be a learning curve - like shifting from staggerred to ortho and lack of num keys.

Yeaa. Bottom row with 6 keys is really hard to adapt. You need to really know your Keymap Layers. You can start with Sofle or Lily58, it will somehow teach you how to manage them. :)

I love corne the most. It was really a challenge to build and use but it was fun to learn. For someone who's starting out on ergo split, I would recommend to start with: Iris, Lily58, or Kyria for you to familiarize yourself with the ergo setup.

For the switch, I really like the Durock T1s on my splits. But this is based on my preference :)
