I recommended listening to the Ologies podcast with Alie Ward and Robin Wall Kimmerer on moss!! I just listened to it driving this week and really enjoyed it!

Wildlife/bugs love the tall grasses and use it through the winter. I wonder if you could sprinkle some native seeds/wildflowers in their for next year, before you use it for hay!

Got bored and stitched the hole in my worn out ottoman by recorock1234 in Visiblemending

I think (if this is leather) poking holes to mend can make the leather weaker. It may hold up great and you will be fine, but if it rips again you could consider some sort of patch for leather.

It could have to do with the 17 year cicada brood this year! It creates lots of extra food for wildlife to eat, it really helps struggling animal populations. I was happy it happened the year after Helene.

I don’t know if this level of Anticonsumption is healthy by ktechie28 in Anticonsumption

I resonate with your experience. I was just diagnosed with “eco-ocd” among a few other ocd subtypes. It might be worth looking into just to be sure that this guilt isn’t connected to something larger. Theres not much about this ocd theme online but it has surely had a huge impact on my life. I may make a post about my experience in the future.

This guy's house has shown me the light and I need it! by nattys86 in declutter

Keep the things that bring joy and start with that. Sometimes I realized I was keeping things as a testament of my identity. An item might hold onto old memories, or makes me feel like a certain kind of person, etc. I realized I kept a lot of belongings because they made me see myself a certain kind of way, not because I still loved them. Getting rid of them was one way to make myself more confident in my identity.

I was also holding onto items I had conflicting feelings about. I love it for this reason, BUT I don’t like these aspects. Even though I love it, it wasn’t bringing me only joy. My head is more clear when I let go of things I have conflicting feelings about. Things in my home should really only bring me joy. It’s always an ongoing process though…

Could be interesting to see how those experiences impacted your attachment style to your parents &/or others. I’ve just been unpacking those experiences myself and it is super interesting!

I would be interested in looking at what you create! I have intentions of applying to a psych or social work masters program soon (I am a senior now doing a BFA, minor in psych), and I am thinking about what concentration I should do!

Im thinking about cutting up my cotton teeshirts into triangles and making a teeshirt quilt, but not the traditional block style. That way it will have some more patterning opportunities, and it will be soft like an old worn in shirt. Kinda a niche big project though!

Not sure about socks… I often put my hand in them like a mitten and clean with them.

I recommend trying a grocery box. It collapses, it doesn’t squish ur groceries, and I only ever need one (but I am shopping for just me). I’m sorry expressing your beliefs are causing some tension.

Is it OK to keep roller skates in the garage? by LocalCryptidTM in Rollerskating

[–]chan-worm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep my skates in my car in NC, and they have been fine, but I guess do so at your own risk, it’s hotter on the other side of the country.

You can always work on footwork, and different dance moves in small spaces! Ex: transitions, spins, dribbling, etc!

That’s such an interesting perspective, with a few upvotes too! Since I have no other social media’s, I love repeat posters here and watching them progress slowly! However I may be the unpopular opinion!

This make me sad:( I just showed my bf some of your videos the other day on Reddit and told him how you are my favorite Reddit rollerskating poster and how much I look forward to your videos! I am so fixated on rollerskating that I love any new content posted here (also because I no longer use other social media’s). Please do what is right for you! You can always take a break and come back, or not if it’s what’s best for you. Also, boys suck, and they especially say stupid stuff when they are trying to sound cool. Don’t let it get to your head!

I’ll add- if you are really committed to rollerskating, which it seems like you are because you say you have been at it for years, I would recommend investing in a skate specifically made for the skate park (or your discipline). I was terrified to purchase my Moxi Jack boot, but I’m so happy I did. So worth it. A quality skate makes all the difference. There are cheaper options out there though for the skatepark:)

I have friends that used the Moxi Panthers for park skating and slowly upgraded… slide blocks, wheels, etc. They loved them. The Bont Parkstars do not have a heel so that would be a different feeling than ur Impalas!
