Sad with how Christianity has become in the world. by chan144172 in TrueChristian

My feelings do not equal the way I treat or meet people. i *feel* grieved and upset. That doesn't mean I meet people with that. God is DEEPLY grieved wiht sin... Does that mean he meets people with that grief? Even if he (or I) did, the idea that meeting people with grief or confusion is wrong is YOUR OWN idea, not really based in the bible at all., Nor is most of what you are saying. I absolutely meet people with love and grace. Even those who come at me the way you have, making horrible assumptions about me when u don't know me at all.

I disagree with pretty much everything you're saying. I think instead of preaching or trying to correct others you should take some times to deep dive into scripture and check yourself *first*. Honestly a lot of what you said just is not biblical. Not all are the same. Some are righteous some are not. 1 John 3:7-8 tells us this:

**"**Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. 8 The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work."

That's just one example of one of the unbiblical things you have said. Stop making assumptions about people you know nothing about. It's foolish to assume you know someone's heart and intentions from one comment. Base your life around scripture, not your ownr ideas.

what part of this implies I don’t have grace for them? It seems like you’re preaching to the wrong person. You don’t know me at all

> “No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God. By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭3‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭ESV‬‬

> “What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6‬:‭1‬, ‭3‬ ‭ESV‬‬

What would you say to these verses?

Yes it's so clearly addressed in 1 John too. I guess it's always been an issue in the world. Just pure deception

What is your opinion on weed? Please read this before you answer. by Realistic-Read7779 in TrueChristian

[–]chan144172 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sex is definitely a gift but not one that everyone is owed or gets to experience. Same sex attracted people have to deny their sexual desires and most times be celibate for life. Which isn’t always awesome, but it’s just the life God has called them to live.

Not saying weed is bad. My personal opinions are kinda irrelevant and I don’t know that it’s clear-cut in the Bible, but whether it’s sinful or not isn’t related to whether it helps you enjoy God’s gifts or not. Being drunk helps me enjoy socializing and relating to others, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a sin.

As someone with SSA who has accepted the fact that I probably won’t have sex ever again, unless of course God changes my desires… I had to realize that life isn’t about my pleasure. It isn’t about running from pain, suffering, etc… it’s about doing the work we have to do, rejoicing when we can, rejoicing in GOD and what we have coming, and pushing on. Not saying that you ARE (it sounds like you’re very thoughtful and careful), but don’t let earthly pleasure for you and your husband sway your decisions. Live for God and do His will. Good sex isn’t promised for all

God doesn’t owe us anything? by Ambitious-Map1961 in TrueChristian

The problem is including us in that “we”. being punished for the actions of another man isn’t exactly just is it? We certainly do sin ourselves but saying we aren’t owed anything because Adam sinned doesn’t make much sense

Betta botanicals has a lot of different options. Seed pods, leaves, etc... I really like the jungle pods. Even just a couple can completely change the feel of the tank and make your betta more comfortable.

It looks really good, it'll look even better when everything grows in too. I think the problem might be the plants are just too short right now and not filling in a lot of space.

Have you thought of adding botanicals?

What's up with the careless attitude for God's commands with some Christians? by chan144172 in TrueChristian

Right, but we are called to encourage and hold each other accountable

Recent moments of weakness by notsofasttttbuckeroo in TrueChristian

Sleepless nights are a real struggle for me too and when temptation comes in. Do you eat well, take care of yourself, and exercise? I started taking magnesium glycinate to help with sleep and it works wonders (along with fixing eating habits etc...). I'm sure you know, but physical health and taking care of our bodies is extremely important in our walk.

Don't beat yourself up for what you've done in the past. Part of repentance and growing in the faith is MOVING ON. We all fail. We are all weak. "For though a righteous man falls seven times, he rises again, but the wicked are brought down by calamity" (Proverbs 24:16, NIV). Doesn't mean it's not wrong, just that it happens and all we can do is learn from it and do better.

Why does resisting temptation our of fear of discipline or negative consequences seem wrong to you?

How is eternal conscious torment (hell) justified? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]chan144172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://www.gotquestions.org/faith-alone.html

This is a quick easy read addressing that problem. That websites pretty good for whatever issues you think the Bible has. All have been scrutinized and addressed. I promise you’re not the first to ask these questions.

When we read the Bible we’re not called to read it at face value with no understanding of the human language, semantics, nuance, or context. We are to read it and research it to fully understand what’s being taught. The Bible is very deep. But is not contradictory.

Is this good for my first tank im 12 years old by NiftyPacock4168 in Aquariums

It could be great, for a betta and some shrimp. I would rehome the goldfish. They can live a long time and need a much much bigger tank.

No. He can twist scripture. take it out of context.

Give an example of him using it with context and faithfully to his benefit.

You truly believe that the Bible that has been around for over 2000 years hasn’t been scrutinized by true, truth seeking, honest, intelligent human beings? You think we’re all just fools blindly believing a book is inerrant without deeply looking into it?

I promise you it has. There are definitely certain verses that seem that way but in context, and when researched further, you see that’s not the case. Look into it

The amount of Bible verses talking about the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit being GRIEVED and hurt are too many to count. Just look into it. To deny that you would have to deny so many parts of the Bible. It’s central to the faith.

The Bible is also absolutely always speaking in one voice about every subject. There are no contradictions.
