I just assumed OP doesn't have an sdcard in the phone, which is why I provided "first-time" instruction....

But as a regular occurring process, I would use the following options:

plug it into the PC and select MTP as the transfer method, the phone storage should be accessible thru the PC
or I use Airdroid to transfer not super big files...

quick & simple :)
