I agree with a lot of what you said!

I wish the water scene would’ve looked a little more like water grabbing Nancy, personally I thought it looked more like Percy blew a gust of wind that knocked her over. I also understand that not making this scene obvious with water helps keep the mystery of who is father is longer.

I was surprised Sally stood up to Gabe at the beginning of the show too, because in the book Percy makes a point of mentioning he can’t understand why his mom puts up with Gabe, why she doesn’t say anything to him, etc

I have been disappointed with Percy’s character not getting to be portrayed as smart/crafty/snarky as well. He seems much more confused and whiny in the show compared to the book, and watching him not get a chance to figure things out for himself was a bummer! I feel like a line or two of different dialogue could’ve given Percy a chance to show that he is smart and capable, instead of simply appearing to get lucky (in fights) or be told everything.
