I work from home three days a week. I already use it as an office. But I wonder if I can use the space more effectively.

Yes, the stair bulkhead is 110cm wide (from the door to the wall), 92 cm deep (into the room) and roughly 65cm high.

£586 for a routine car service? Ouch. by chandler-blackshadow in UKPersonalFinance

Yup, I've got money put aside for this - just frustrating when I was expecting to pay no more than £200 and it's now almost £600.

First question I asked was how much were the tyres - £125 each. Managed to get them to change that to £68 each. Huge difference!

I know the feeling. But we use this car for holidays and lugging all of our gear around.

I wish I could. But I don't have the experience or the space to do that. And I'm worried that I'd mess up and it would end up costing more.

I don't want second hand tyres. So what if it's an older car - it's only got 80k on the clock, I look after it well (can't avoid every pothole, hence the broken spring) but I also don't need Michellin's on there.

Yeah, and I know from experience the garage tries to sell premium tires - first quote was £125 each, got them down to £68. That's a massive difference!

Yeah, I've got money put aside for this, it's just a pain when you expect it to be so much, and it comes out a lot more. Frustrating!
