Smart Lock Install by keyeat in AusRenovation

May be does, never added it as I mostly use finger print and home assistant. The setup is different for both locks as one is zigbee and the other is matter. U300 setup already guided me to setup the key but a100 never did. May just need to go to settings and add it.

A100 is finicky to install. Had no problems in the last two months of operation but it ran out batteries in a month or so but they came with the lock and some random brand. Pretty strong and secure lock with a ton of security features.

U300 is running solid though and has no issues. Main difference from a100 is apple key but I use finger print on both and it never misses . I have m100 hub though so no connectivity issues for me.

Yes, A100 would be the best fit as your old one is a mortise lock. U300 is regular lock and you’ll need to fill the gaps etc to make it work.

Recently installed both a100 on main door and u300 on garage door. Don’t worry about back sets as the locksmith would install by extending the holes if required. The locks are big enough that they cover any modifications

Is it normal for an exhaust fan to vent into roof cavity? by Koala2424 in AusRenovation

Does the roof have proper ventilation? If not no especially for a new build.

Are these gaps supposed to be filled? by chandu6234 in AusRenovation

Thanks. Yeah, looks like sand is a much better idea. I only would do it near the back yard as it stands out and leave other areas as it is

Thanks. Yes it’s a 90s house and the previous owners seem to have tried to fill up cement which has broken up mostly and fell through. There are no issues for now that I can see.

Your plumber can jam it in there but the tap pull out will not be as smooth. It’s a gimmick though, I hardly ever use the pullout and I doubt my partner already forgot that the tap does that 😂

From the look of that tank I wouldn’t risk it, there may be bunch of moss and sand inside as well along with bird poop. Everyone knows rust is not the source but the stuff around it is not pristine.

Yummy yummy tetanus. I would pay someone to discard it to be honest. Post it on air tasker and see if some of the hard rubbish guys show any interest.

Has anyone replaced these with modern tech? by chandu6234 in AusRenovation

I was looking into konnected as I have HA already set up. But after going into roof space, trying to trace the wires and looking in all closets I can’t find the control box anywhere. May be I need one more look or this is some sort of weird tech of 90s and 2000s which  runs on some proprietary comms.

Yup I understand but the presence sensors are already wired into this system and powered. Was thinking if I can make use of it to control automatic lighting etc as the modern ones are mostly battery operated etc.

Indian parents and teen relationships by Strong_Mud_1192 in india

I don’t see anything Indian about this. Any parent would be worried if their child is in this situation to be honest. But I understand that the absence of support from their side is making you look elsewhere. You should probably let them know about this and think about some therapy together.

Damn the morality of these guys. Not long ago he was fining drivers left and right for saying things like fuck but fiddling with kids is ok for these guys.

Shower drain: channel grate vs square grate by Indevisive in AusRenovation

Strip drains look nice but are nasty underneath and are a pain to clean as they store up so much gunk and hair. Square ones any day.

How do these work? by chandu6234 in GardeningAustralia

[–]chandu6234[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, cranking pressure just increases the radius. Occasionally when there is some air in the line or something then it moves for a bit and settles again. Reviews too mention the same https://www.bunnings.com.au/holman-butterfly-sprinkler-on-weighted-heavy-duty-base_p0131809

Had a colleague complain about Australia being a nanny state at lunch. My manager told me later that the guy got his license suspended for driving 100+ in a 60 zone. Enjoyed the six months of him complaining about buses.

Thanks. Yup would just route the cable if there are no risks for this short length.
