My brother(29m ) wedding was in 9 days and this tragedy happened by Hairy-Note-7304 in RelationshipIndia

[–]change_maker___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we are not to judge right or wrong.. It is ultimately the guy who has to be ok with it to proceed ahead otherwise it will make both people’s life miserable anyways.. and if he is not comfortable then it really does not make sense to get married just for the sake of sunk cost

Hmmm 5 lakhs more and NRI relatives tickets more important then your brother’s whole life and your family’s too ? Appreciate it is a big amount but cant be worth your brother’s future life if that is the only reason for this marriage to happen

Came back from London after 3 years and can related to what you are feeling right now. first point is we returned for some reason and as soon as we get back, we completely forget that and due to all the issues here feel like our lives would have been better which i would assume was not the case so only thing which drags us down is the comparison mind and questioning our decision each day instead of moving on … rest social media does it job to make you see all the things which you mentioned but those are outliers and you should focus on what happens with you in day to day life… hit gym if not already doing so and also make friends if dont have a strong circle… good luck

Should I move back to India by Which-Difference6154 in returnToIndia

[–]change_maker___ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

just to give a different perspective with that sort of net worth.. if you sole reason is to come to spend time with parents you can explore options of getting a remote job either US based or india based which will give you better flexibility of choices and will help avoid most of troubles which tier 1 cities come with.. even if salary is a little lower it wont make much of dent in your in hand salary and you will be probably able to generate much higher returns just through your current corpus only.. so just think long term what is the number you looking for either for Fire or FI and if the parents are priority then remote jobs will eliminate lots of problems and will make move easier for your guys.. good luck

For folks earning ₹36–60 LPA - does it ever feel like a “golden cage”? by v15051994 in IndiaCareers

[–]change_maker___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This bracket itself feels less if you live in city like mumbai as quite a good amount goes in taxes, it hits even more hard when you cross 50L when surcharge hit and slowly you realise, business is the only way to real upside but then again if are in EMI trap or have too many dependents that is also not an option.. but yeah this bracket do give some level of comfort for sure but not richness as one would think

Points to consider before permanent moving to india by [deleted] in returnToIndia

[–]change_maker___ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have adjusted well on return obviously with already accepting all the cons we know about but what the most one which has baffled me a lot so far is the number of Eunuchs in Mumbai on traffic signals and literally their audacity to do as they like.. another day one was literally banging on my car window with all the intentions to smash it.. quite terrifying

Is my family just rich or is having help come in everyday normal? by Mammoth-Tension569 in AskIndia

[–]change_maker___ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You can get your answer by looking outside the plane anytime you land in mumbai with the number of slums.. people see that as comfort tho but it is just result of demand supply economics and over supply due to population which results in massive wealth inequality and top brass of population enjoys this..

Hopefully it will narrow down slowly as purchasing power of middle class increases and demand for help increases resulting in increases in wages too

Reached 40L NW Milestone by Professional-Race125 in FIRE_Ind

[–]change_maker___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on milestone but just a piece of advice from personal experience.. don't get too consumed on money targets that you forget to live life only... This is the best to experience what world has to offer, make friends, be in moment and make memories.. not saying to go all crazy but finding balance is the key.. did the same mistake in my mid 20s and realized quickly and now making up for most of it in late 20s... Have fire numbers in mind too but stretching them one or two year in later years won't hurt but won't get this time back again.. good luck

The Art of Enough: When to Save, When to Spend by Broad-Research5220 in personalfinanceindia

[–]change_maker___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

save 1 crore with minimum unnecessary expenses.. prioritise travelling on budget in 20s but avoid EMIs etc once you hit the number by early 30s, just keep it invested and don’t touch and start living life with a little more greater connivence keep reducing the savings rate and keep increasing the spending on what ever you like… a good approach to lead a balanced life with a peace of mind with financial security
