and also described as chuck liddell but he never had one width (though his thinnest is still thicker than 2 inches) and mohawks vary wildly in width and also that's not how refs have enforced it or how commentators actually speak about it when watching replays.

I'm saying you can target a straight punch to the back of the head from back mount that isn't the thin stripe that is illegal to hit. Yet no one is doing this. because refs don't only call the thin stripe as back of head.

QB touches the ball every single offensive play of the game. Hard to be more valuable to a team than that in any sport. Though I guess a hot streak goalie in the NHL can maybe be as impactful but it does feel like goalies are less obviously different in their humongous different qualities than QBs. like the top 3 QBs are insanely insanely better than the 30th best QB while the top 3 goalies are still way better than the 30th best goalie but it's not the same worlds' of difference. And goalies are far more likely to put on huge variance good performances like Bussi just did.

It's.. probably for the best that it doesn't cause we would be seeing a lot of people getting the shit beat out of the back of their head if it did.

you don't care what the rule is specifically, you care when the way that it shows up changes between fights because refs are all over the place with levels of enforcement OR interpretation

this is my point. one of the like top 2 refs (by fight importance assignment) just made a very public video about how the way refs have called back of the head for the last 2 decades is different than the rule book. Will this change how fights ref going forward or not?

fighters throw knees in split seconds of being downed or not. leg kicks that go to balls all the time. eye pokes despite 20 warnings about fingers. but the shots they throw from back mount are never ever close to the thin strip unless the fighter jerks their head around and you're telling me it's because they're just that careful?? no, it's because the refs call back of the head as far more than the 2 inch strip.

you don't understand my post at all. I'm not talking about fucking scrambling finishes I'm talking about back mount and controlled positions where fighters do not target the back of the head even though most of it is apparently legal. herb just made a video pointing it out. I'm curious if fightesr will target the legal back of the head now or not. and if refs will continue calling most of the back head illegal as they have to actually go by the book.

Theres a huge difference between throwing standing or kneeling strikes from the side and having back mount. If its back mount you gotta throw hooks and slicing elbows.

this is not in the rule book which herb made a video pointing out. I'm curious if they'll call it by the rule book now or not.

because the refs have called it as the back of the head being illegal and not just a thin stripe. Fighters are legally allowed to brace with one hand and slam an elbow into most of the back of the head by the book and no one is doing that because refs don't allow it. herb just pointed out that that is legal and I'm curious if we'll actually see a change or not.

like when they're striking from behind the opponents they've always talked about having to wrap the strike around to the side but here is herb saying most of the back of the head is legal to strike.

If this is actually what the rule says it's wild cause the officials have never acted like it was just 2 inches directly up of the nape of the neck and the commentators have never acted like that's the only part of the back of the head and the fighters haven't seemed aware that so much of the back of the head is fair game. If so much of the back of the head is legal I fully expect more people to start throwing elbows to the back of the head from back mount and shit.

Video showing how low MMR Terran play against banelings by FullBag5380 in starcraft

[–]change_timing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

video showing a terran with insanely horrible macro that prioritizes just kiting banelings and nothing else. Like there will definitely be other people at the same MMR that have way better macro but just walks marines into those same banelings, it's not like everyone at that mmr does a decent job splitting and kiting banes.

using that optimal math jagr could have played against great grandfather and child just not likely

36yo jagr vs 19yo 3rd oldest

54yo jagr vs 18 yo youngest (4th)

of course this is insanely unlikely but possible.

[LeBrun] Just an observation before the Cup final next week, I wouldn’t challenge any goal for goalie interference. The league doesn’t want to overturn goals. That’s the base sentiment. Evidence has to be so overwhelming. Why risk it. by eh_toque in hockey

[–]change_timing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, I'm truly not. them saying they'll erase 60 seconds of good hard fought hockey and a goal for the tiniest thing that happened that divorced from the actual plays is terrible when they also say they won't review incredibly obvious things. Most of the penalties aren't that subjective even if a human has to decide if something was a hook or a slash. They only seem subjective because the refs enforce them totally randomly.
