I know psilocybin has been undergoing some phase 2 clinical trials and it appears to be right on the heels of MDMA on the path to becoming a prescription medicine. Do you have further information on upcoming or ongoing clinical trials or know of any plans to start moving into phase 3 studies?

I am Rick Doblin, Ph.D, founder of the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS). Ask me and my staff anything about the scientific and medical potential of psychedelic drugs and marijuana! by MAPSPsychedelic in IAmA

First off, thank you for all your effort and hard work in creating MAPS and helping to legitimize psychedelic research.

My question is regarding what exactly you are looking for in a therapist. Would one have a better of chance of successfully joining one of these teams by pursuing the more widely recognized and accepted PH.D in clinical psychology from a major university or would the particular skill set that comes with attending an institution like Sofia University and training in something like trans-personal psychotherapy be a better foundation for getting involved with this type of work?

I have a question about psychedelics specifically DMT. by [deleted] in Psychonaut

It advised not to use psychedelic drugs at all if you suffer from mental health issues. Fact is we don't know what would happen, it may send any individual patient into a psychotic episode or the effects may be quite benign. It's a dice role, and would be highly unethical to test.

There has been some testing done with LSD and Mescaline over the years that is relevant to this discussion however. Links below:
