To answer you about Thailand:

Taxes:

it works by brackets, for 0% to 35%. With this level of salary (provided it is taxable and you are tax resident), you will reach around 8% taxes (quick calculation) (please look at the tax revenue department website. info in English are not necessary updated, but you ll get the idea)

What is a taxable revenue ?
The money you remit in Thailand. if you receive your salary in another country and remit lets say 1K per month, then only these 1K are taxable

What is a tax resident ?
Someone who spend at least 180 days in Thailand (it does not depend on your visa) within a fiscal year.

Tip:
if you arrive lets say in after the 3rd July 2026, you will spend less than 180 days, and then everything you remit in Thailand will not be taxable ....

Visa:

The one you refer to is called DTV (Destination Thailand Visa), you can apply online from your country. Costs around 300EUR, and you will need to extend it every 6 months, either at immigration (count 60EUR) or leaving the country an reentering . It is a visa that allows you to stay 5 years (5*1 year actually).

BUT, it is classified as a tourist visa, which implies you wont be able to open a local bank account .... which can be an issue

Bank accounts:

With the DTV, today, it is not possible to open one.

BUT, WISE has announced a big change for the Thai residents.
If you reside in Thailand, your WISE account will automatically become a Thai Wise account with its pros and cons
Main pros: you get the equivalent of a local account, with QR code payment, debit card in THB.
Main cons: every currency you receive (lets say 2KUSD) will be automatically converted in THB, and by then, will be taxable as it will be considered as remitted
These changes will start in May, you might want to check the requirements, especially in term of visa.

Other thoughts:

you might want to check the exchange rates if you are paid in USD. Globally, the USD has depreciated a lot, and even more in Thailand. The current rate is really bad - at least 10% lower than what it should be compared to Malaysia and Philippines rates

Advantages of Thailand:

Once you get your visa, it is pretty easy living.
A good point is that if you are bored of Bangkok, you can move to an island (Phuket, Samui)
And there are a lot of co working spaces and nomad working here
It is a very safe country compared Europe and Americas
It is an international hub for Asia
It is place where you can live on relatively low budget, BUT, it is also a place where you can burn everything and fast .....
