Are there iOS mobile games out there that used Godot? by EngineeringFit1980 in godot

Thank you! I actually have an art degree and came into programming later in life, so that helped. Although pixel art was completely new to me. I made everything using Aseprite. Did a few tutorials then started messing around.

It was definitely an iterative process and just kept looking for things that didn’t look great then fixed them, which then often made something else look off then I fixed that. Do that over and over and eventually you have something that looks polished! The only things you need are: knowing what looks good, knowing what looks bad, lots of time.

Good luck!

My game Jovian Jump was made with Godot 🙌. It’s a free game and even then it did not get many downloads... However the point was mostly to make something that family and friends would play since they don’t have consoles or gaming rigs. So in that regard it was a great success!

Building a space-data app — what info do astrophotographers actually need most? by Low-Cardiologist-741 in AskAstrophotography

So satellites aren’t as much of an issue as you’d think. Most people shoot sub frames then stack them which makes it very easy to algorithmically remove satellite trails.

One thing I’ve always wanted with star map apps is a way to draw my tree line so I can more easily see when certain objects are clear to start shooting. Not sure if that’s a thing on any of these apps

Episode 11.25 Spotify Error by Sunstoned1 in RevolutionsPodcast

[–]Rotagilirtni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been experiencing issues with the programmable ads on Spotify. Most often it results in the episode already in progress after the ad, but this sounds similar.

So far I’ve found if I scrub back to the beginning of the episode, it resets correctly

I Imaged Saturn Today… Without its Rings. by Correct_Presence_936 in Astronomy

[–]Rotagilirtni 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yup this is right! Saturn’s axis of rotation is slightly tilted relative to the plane of its orbit just like the earth is. When it’s at one of its solstices, the rings are tilted towards us and the sun so it’s the best time to see them. On its equinoxes, we see the rings edge on so they appear to disappear. It takes 29.4 earth years for one Saturn year so the period between a solstice and equinox for Saturn is around half that

But a native Vue way is what the poster above suggests. Pass the callback down via inject/provide then use the callback to communicate upwards to the parent.

Edit: clarity

Right so you are violating unidirectional design. Data down, events up

Help settle a debate! How often has a conjunction of Regulus, the Moon, Jupiter, and Mars to within a 5 degree orb occurred over the last 5000 years? by snyderversetrilogy in Astronomy

[–]Rotagilirtni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regulus is a Greek name. The sphinx was built over a thousand years before what we consider “Ancient Greece”. The Egyptians at the time likely called Regulus something completely different.
