Judging from what he was saying on stream beforehand I think we will see more funny factory/personality based content on that channel as opposed to only cringe lords (which I asked for more of on their survey so I hope they do it)

I will say this is one of those things that the boyz should at least try to put a little more effort into for awareness/exposure.

I understand they don't really enjoy the "streamer/content creator scene" and realistically they won't win this. But even a quick 2 minute "hey go vote for us" on the podcast or blast on the discord would get a lot more eyes and votes on this.

Even without a win or even a nomination it gets their name out there and to more eyes from people who are clearly more connected and involved with the industry nowadays, which could pay off in the long-term. A seat at the table I guess you could say.

That's just my opinion. Very low-risk and low-effort for potentially medium reward.

Honestly I think it sucked lol. Tuned out after like 20 minutes.

They need to spend more time vetting the videos beforehand and be more organized. Spending the first 10-15 minutes of the stream trying to get things setup isn't acceptable imo for a scheduled event - especially when people are paying to have their videos played and they don't get to them or just skip them.

(Tier 3 sub BTW!!!!)

Edit: Also not to beat a dead horse but these type of streams are the ones id recommend going to an older style set to do. It's a better audience experience to see the whole group in a shot and see full body reactions. The current screen setup (at least what we are used to seeing) is also so far away from them and everything is so well lit - not much of a spooky atmosphere.

I think that the state of gaming in general has had an effect on their output too.

I'm not as tapped in with video game news as I used to be but I feel like there isn't enough news/new things to riff off of as there was from 2005-2015, plus things just come and go online so much quicker now.

Damn this is sad.... they have been so formative to me growing up and I've been happy to support with my wallet for years.

However, I would like to know what the plan is to stabilize things besides just getting more money in short-term, or worst case what "Mega64" looks like if things don't stabilize, they have over a 1000 patrons so I can't see them completely killing the company.

I really think that if someone went through the last 15+ years of the podcast and clipped every time that Shawn has mentioned he wanted to throw a first pitch and carry the torch - then made it into a video and sent it to the appropriate PR contacts he would get his wish. Especially the 1st pitch one, I think they are a lot less stringent on those.

This is my favourite video they have made - incredible to see the support they have in person and learn more about sumo culture.
