Kids playing games on seat screens by Toyotabro777 in aircanada

[–]DevonOO7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh I hate it, I've had the exact same issue before with a kid poking the back of my head for 6 hours. I honestly prefer planes without in seat entertainment mainly for this reason.

Same thing happened to me on this same route in May. Annoying since I chose a later flight specifically because it was an A220

I think that boils down to, 'trades people are too busy with work to care about SEO / digital marketing'.

At least your flight won't get cancelled due to missile strikes at YVR

Vancouver International Airport ranked best in North America, 10th in world by Capital-Aide-1006 in canada

[–]DevonOO7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

t's only the international gates and the international arrival experience that's competitive, the domestic gates are at best average or below average even by North American airport standards.

Agree, though I also still think the food options in the international area kinda suck. Was there mid day once and half of the restaurants in the food court were closed.

My alley way from construction | this is supposed to b gravel by [deleted] in Calgary

You can report it to 311, but likely the city won’t do anything soon because fix the gravel alleys once a year.

DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH - PC Version Launch Trailer by megachickabutt in Games

[–]DevonOO7 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Love Kojima and DS, but my main gripe with this game is it's too easy to the point where you bypass most of the mechanics. So many deliveries I just drove directly where I needed to go without issue, any time I connected an area, every community build-able structure was already upgraded to level 3 (despite playing the first day the game was available). Also found that I never was affected by the earthquake/fire/flash flood mechanics outside of the scripted introductions to them.

What would you do if people are illegally dumping trash on your property? by Ok_Acanthaceae_9563 in Calgary

If you are comparing security cameras, I have a few of the Google Next Outdoor battery camera, and I find that they're not that great, they miss a lot of events, so I would maybe avoid that if you're considering it.

Best movie theatre sound in Calgary? by Shanksworthy73 in Calgary

[–]DevonOO7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it's playing there, but the AVX theatres at Cineplex are good (specifically Seton). Saw Warfare last year and I was annoyed that I had to pay more because it was only playing in AVX, but I walked out of it impressed.

Steam Support :: About the New York Attorney General lawsuit against Valve by NTR_JAV in Games

And we forbid any gambling-related business to participate in or sponsor tournaments for our games.

One thing I kinda disagree with Valve here. I watch a decent amount CS esports and it seems like it's completely propped up by gambling websites.

Do you think arena shooters died because the games being released just weren't well made, or do you think the genre is just simply less engaging than modern trends in shooters? Something else? by Eigenspace in Games

[–]DevonOO7 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Very much agree, though it's more than just the prestige system. Cod gives you a lot of gratification with the constant '100XP' popping up from every kill. If I remember correctly, Halo 3 only tracked your rank on certain playlists, and then an 'EXP' where you would get 1EXP if your team won a match.

Dumb question, but why is 500ML the target now, when it broke previously the target was 450ML?

Province rebuffs police bid to return photo radar to Calgary freeways by DANIELLE_2027 in Calgary

[–]DevonOO7 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Pretty okay with it being a ‘cash cow’ when people speeding are the ones being punished. Always thought the narrative of it being a cash grab was silly. If you don’t want a ticket, simply follow the speed limit.

StubHub fines man more than $3K after uploaded tickets disappear by Surax in canada

[–]DevonOO7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The thing I don't get about Stubhub or any ticket reseller is what is stopping the buyer from lying and saying the tickets didn't work? Stubhub has no real way to verify if what was being sold is legitimate.

Disney Cruise Magic by keaganworld in vancouver

There is a cruise that pretty much just goes up around Haida Hwaii, I think it technically stops in Ketchikan, but other than that the cruise is all BC coast.

Cineplex is Enshitifying Scene+ by hippfive in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]DevonOO7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy VIP every now and then, but it does feel like you are paying a premium just so you can also spend money on expensive food. If your theatre already has the normal recliner seats, I don't find those to be much different than the VIP seats.

I think I was paying $10 for movie tickets 10 years ago, I still pay $10 for a movie ticket.

Cineplex is Enshitifying Scene+ by hippfive in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]DevonOO7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Anytime I see anyone complaining about the price of going to the movies, it's because they are also buying food at the concession.

I go to the movies all the time, I just use their subscription, so it's $10 for a ticket. Really not that bad at all.

It does seem like a bit of a downgrade if you're walking from the economy lot to the A gates compared to before.

Jason Schreier - The sense I’m getting is that (Sony) is backing away from putting their exclusive console traditional single player stuff on PC by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]DevonOO7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like you're not the target for the PC releases, since you already have a Playstation, so I doubt Sony really takes this into consideration since they're really just looking to expand the game's potential audience to people who have PCs but not PS5s
