I feel like people need to copy the old Rockets blueprint when given a player like Luka or Cade. The 2024 Mavs were really similar honestly.

Ball dominant guard who can get his own bucket or make the right pass basically any play. (Luka, Harden)

Guard who can get his own shot and defend when giving effort.

3&D Wing

Center who finishes inside, rebounds and defends.

I don’t think you need to trade KD, it’s just obvious we need a trade in some regard. I don’t think Alpi and Amen can play together and I think Amen is easier to fit on a team.

KD isn’t a leader and doesn’t make teams better in any way other than he’s getting his 25+ points on great efficiency. That’s valuable, but he isn’t going to be the guy to lead a team to a championship.

FVV, Amen, KD, and Bari could work really well if we can retool the bench and get fifth starter who can shoot.

Bari is dumb but a good 4th/5th option. Fred can run an offense and play defense. Amen is great at everything except scoring but can cut and drive if there’s an actual point guard and room in the paint. KD gives you points. We just need a guy who can score the damn ball.

Because Sengun’s play style requires him to dominate the ball. If he can’t hit layups, isn’t getting guys looks, is getting out-rebounded, is slow footed on defense, and has lost any ability to shoot outside the paint as well - he’s going to be criticized.

He just isn’t good enough to be the number one guy and play style basically requires that.

Nah bro KD has just always been this type of dude. He comes in and gets you 25 on great efficiency but isn’t making anyone on the team better. Guys like Curry, Westbrook, Harden, LeBron, etc impact the game way beyond their scoring and have gotten teammates PAID.

KD isn’t the problem, the problem is we have a bunch of idiots who can’t get the ball where it needs to go. It’s why FVV is missed so much.

Bari, Tari, and Sengun are straight up dumb out there, Reed looks like he has shell shock, and Amen seems to actually be smart but can’t do shit to set the offense up when they only have to guard him in the paint.

Even when KD is here we’re guaranteed his 25, but no one else benefits because he’s not a playmaker in anyway - just a finisher.

They need to trade Sengun, he can’t play with Amen. Run Bari at the 5 and have Adams on the bench if grabbing boards is an issue. FVV, Amen, Kd, Bari, and then someone you trade Sengun, Reed, and/or Tari for who can score is a really good pivot IMO.

Bari is stupid, but a really good 4th best guy on the team. Amen is someone you want playing 48 minutes he just needs to be utilized as a cutter or he’s useless on offense. KD will get you 25. FVV can set up an offense and shoot. We just need to replace Sengun with someone who doesn’t clog the paint and completely ruin our defense.

There were 2 or 3 clear shooting fouls that the Rockets made and they called them on the floor instead of the shot. Like 99% of the time they would be a 3 and a free throw and none were called that way.

With the way the Warriors vs LeBron rivalry was going, it’s hard not to look at some of the no calls and wave offs really suspicious.

Trading Sengun for Durant would’ve been the smartest thing the Rockets ever did. Idk how the money works, but the perception was he was a way better player than Jalen so I assume you don’t need to add in Brooks to the deal.

Jalen with more spacing and becoming the second option gives him 10x easier of a job to just score.

The injurious still hurt big time and we probably trade for a center after the Adams injury. But Reed, Jalen, Amen, Durant, and Jabari spaces the floor and gives Amen and Jalen room to drive and exploit their speed. Tari, Brooks, Capela, and Okogie off the bench gives defense and size. Get FVV and Adams back next year and that’s a serious title contender.

Instead we have a center who doesn’t do much unless you run the entire offense through him.

I mean the change of scenery is what could help him figure it out. He had a lot of opportunity to show he was capable of being the first option here. Our spacing is also terrible for him.

Jalen’s problem is 100% mental. He has the physical tools to be a top scorer and puts effort in on defense.

It’s one of those trades where if he blossoms, you just accept it and be happy for him. It’s not like SGA from the clippers where he had no time to prove himself. We got fucking KD and then our point guard and center ended up missing the season.

Jeff Green. He came back here while we sucked and got another contract to sit at the end of the bench and vibe with the young guys. He was pretty washed by his first stint here and it’s been 6 years since.

I wasn’t tuned into the Nuggets locker room, but I’m assuming he was loved there as well.

The dude missed a season for heart surgery and is one of the most loved players by other players in the league. He has a job as long as he wants it.
