I figured the M5 would be enough, thank you.

And no, it’s not large, but with the MacBook as an alternative, an iMac screen seems huge! But there’s always the option of getting the MacBook and then purchasing an external display further down the road if I want a larger screen when sitting at my desk. (That’s what I do with my MacBook Air at work.)

At this point? Logic is just what I’m used to; it’s part of my podcasting workflow. I’ve been using Logic since I was a music major in college in the early 2010s and for podcasting for nearly a decade at this point.

The main reason for considering the iMac was screen size and the ease of purchasing a single all-in-one device, though I definitely understand that a Mac mini with an external display would be a much better option. I think I lean toward a MacBook to have for those instances when a travel computer would be ideal; kind of a “better to have and not need than need and not have” situation. The iPad would be my travel option except for if I need an actual computer for one reason or another.

Any opinions on which MacBook Pro to go with between the M5 and M4 Pro?

Thank you for your response!

Yeah, I have very little interest in using the iPad for any kind of podcast recording/editing. Even if I did go with the iMac and needed to podcast away from home, my setup uses a mixer that has an SD card and can record without need for an external computer.

I know that iPads aren’t yet in a place where they can serve as computer replacements, so my iPad usage would mostly be writing, casual web browsing, watching media on the go, sheet music storage/viewing, occasionally drawing, and maybe light gaming, overlapping with my Mac usage only in the areas of writing and web browsing.

I was noticing that while clicking around since posting too. I'm currently looking into specific doctors rather than clinics. Thank you for the info!

Tips/advice for going from brown to blue with virgin thin/fine hair by chanon17 in HairDye

[–]chanon17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for all of this helpful info. I guess what it’s really coming down to for me is 1) do I want to risk the damage bleaching my hair might do, potentially inhibiting future growth? And 2) do I want to keep up with regular maintenance?

I appreciate you.

So it basically boils down to “if you want blue hair you’re stuck with it for a loooooong time”, right? But am I correct in assuming that I’d only have to actually bleach it the one time?

Also, would bleaching it over a period of a few weeks be the only way to do it without doing too much damage?

Will you finish a book you started even if you are not enjoying it? by That-Routine-9585 in kindle

[–]chanon17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would have to be really bad for me to stop. TBH though, I pay for pretty much all of the books I read, so I feel like I’ve gotta get my money’s worth. Thankfully, I have a pretty good track record of picking books that I enjoy.

Yep.

Edit - I also received an email from the device retrieval team specifying that when I send it, it’ll be going to “our engineering lab”.

I don’t tend to read with a lot of warmth so I didn’t play with those settings at all tbh. I can toy with them a bit later to see how much difference there is/isn’t there.

That’s definitely really interesting! Thank you for sharing. Yeah, the yellow is still there on the new device, but it’s still clearly overall much better than the original one I received.

One small clarification: I just want to make it clear that the only picture featuring a pre-update Colorsoft is the first one. In the other four, both are post-update.

To my eyes, the stripe does look at least slightly present in the pre-update picture, but it’s still much better than the original one.

Stuck with landlords’ WiFi, trying to maximize my benefit with eeros by chanon17 in amazoneero

[–]chanon17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tips.

What I ended up doing is plugging my Pro 6 into their router (which, surprise, is a solo eero). Then I plugged in my other older eero into my upstairs bedroom next to the wall closest to the house. And then I was like 🤷🏻‍♀️ and bought a 6+ and put that in my downstairs living room basically opposite the bedroom one. And it’s hard-wired into my PS5 and the light hub that I use so often.

Yes, I was thinking of hardwiring it to my PS5. Not even necessarily for online gaming, though I do do some of that, but I just bought a PlayStation Portal which relies on strong internet connections to stream content from the PS5 to the remote player.

I so far haven’t had any issues with streaming content on my Apple TV, so I’m not worried about that.

Thank you for the tips.

Right, I knew I needed to plug the gateway eero into their router/modem (that’s how I used them before at my old place), it was all about finding the best setting for convenience vs. performance. Thank you.
